Mercedes-Benz Comand APS NAVI MAP 8.0 EUROPE

Comand APS Map DVD Europe 2008 for E, SL, SLK, Maybach, S, CL, CLS This is the latest V8.0 Map European DVD for E, CLS, MY2005 SL , new SLK, Maybach, S (09/03->09/05), CL (/09/03->09/06). NOTE 1: Works only for COMAND APS and not for the APS 50 system. NOTE 2: You might need to update the firmware of your Comand system to the latest version for the navigation software to work, I had to do that. Instructions: 1. Burn the image with Nero, use a good quality DVD-R disk like Verbatim - crap disks might be a bit to thick and get stuck in the DVD drive and that is a bad thing (then you might have to pay an M-B garage to get your pirated map disk from the drive). 2. Take the disk and go to your car. 3. Insert your key and and start the COMAND system in NAV mode. 4. Open the trunk, locate the DVD drive in the back, probably under some protective cover (use the manual in case you have trouble finding the unit). 5. Eject the old map disk. 6. Insert the burned disk and keep an eye on the Comand screen, it will say someting about loading Navigation Software and 2 progress block will start to fill, then nothing will seem to happen for a while... 7a. If you have a recent version of the firmware, the Comand system will suddenly reset or shutoff. 7b. If you have an old version of the firmware, an error message will say that the system could not load the software (if that is the case, eject the burned disk and insert your old map disk, get thee to an M-B garage and most likely you will have to pay to get the Nav firmware/Comand system upgrade). 8. You should remove the key and wait 3 minutes... 9. That was just 2 minutes... 10. Insert key and try out the Nav system, make a few routes to check that it can read the disk correctly. 11. I`ve converted this to .iso, and burned it on a dvd -r.
But, my Comand APS is version 2.3. Will I need an update of the firmware?
If I try to run this new dvd in my car and it don`t work, will I still be able to use my old map 4.0?

Quite likely you need an update of your Comand system, I had the same issue with the original disc...

Do not take the risk to try update the map without having a updated version first.

hi,i had the 4.0version before i downloaded this version but now it isn't working.it's working but the system is confuesed and says to me that i'm at an other place.my maps are not correct to i'm from belgium and normally paris is down and london is up left and now is paris upside of belgium and london is under and on the right side of belgium.when i put the cd into the cd tray in the back of the car he did an update ,read it on the screen .what did i wrong and how can i help it ?i put the battery for reset but didn't help .can you help me please (i hate the MB car dealer here). Wont work in our CLS 2006, when the download starts in the screen it loads a little and then comand system just shuts down and when i start it again it works with the pirate dvd but still got the old maps!
