Although you haven't mentioned it, the subtitle that matches your encoding is the one from the 50th Anniversary Edition, it might work also for other releases (haven't tested it), but I thought it's worth mention it...

the subtitle is included in the mkv movie. it is not visible by default, so select it (press V in vlc player). a subtitle is included in all my rips.

Sorry, I wasn't very explicit. What I meant was that if the subtitle (other than the English one included in the container) matched the 50th Anniversary Edition version, that must have been your encoding source too. Isn't it so? It might seem unimportant, as some times the film is the same, only the extras differ, but sometimes the film itself is slightly different: extended cut, director's cut, ...
Anyway the blu-ray rip's quality is way better than my old DVD. Thanks again!
