I just installed it and after a restart it all seems fine. Hopefully it will stay that way.
I just have some questions:
Do I need to have any specific settings on or off (i.e. Early Load, SONAR Protection, Non-Admin Access to Settings, Norton Product Tamper Protection, etc.)???
How does the trial reset works? Does it run every time Windows starts? Does the subscription days run out normally? Do I have to run the trial reset after the 165 days?

I am running the latest version JUST FINE!
I have updated my test machines from Norton Internet Security 2010 v17.0.0.136 to v17.1.0.19 and everything has been fine. I still show 160 days left in my trial version.
Been fine...no problems for over 4 days now. I got the patch right away by accident.
Soooooooooo as far as we know this NTR 2.5 will still work. Maybe someone doing a fresh install can comment. I updated only.

I thought that it was supposed to reset automatically to 165 days each time I start the system. It does not. Should it?
However, if I reinstall this TR it resets to 165 days.

:) ok, i think i've to apologise for my prev post coz after a retry, it finally work for me, here's what happen, NIS2010 update it's engine to v17.1.0.19 via a restart & then it coz me the BSOD so i thought its over just like the old version but after the restart it still work magically by showing 165 days instead of subscription ended thingy so i can confirm now that the lastest version 2.5NE does work after the Norton Engine has been updated from v17.0.0.136 to v17.1.0.19...

I prefer norton 360, the crack is easier and my laptop and home desktop are fast with that. A malwarebyte completed my firewall now I can run any virus for testing even, lol, thanks robin. I always like your uploads.

I am using Windows XP, and I can not find out WHERE to turn off the Norton Tamper Protection. Been looking everywhere in Control Panel and Security Center, but I can not find anywhere such thing as described in the installation help text:
"Settings>Misc.settings>Product Security>Norton Product Tamper Protection"..
Someone knows how to access this in XP???

PC got blacklisted! I installed this on Win 7 before activating the 30 days OEM Norton INternet Security v17.0.0.136. When I clicked to update, Symantec disabled Norton. Nothing happens when trying to start Norton & when trying Live Update: cannot connect to our servers.
Maybe activating the trial & then this thing would work or maybe you will get barred.
In any case, please post some feedback!!!
