This is a high quality, full resolution, high profile h264 dvd rip of Star Trek Deep Space 9 - Season 1. These files may be a little large for some. But if you aren't worried about space, and want a higher quality, then this is for you. If you enjoyed my Next Generation rips, then you'll enjoy these as well. The quality is even better since the quality of these original dvd's is better. I've previewed the episodes and they look and sound great on my 50 inch lcd/surround sound system. I wrote the following as I have seen ppl complain if SUBS are included (which I personally like included in my downloads).
For anyone who wants to keep the SUBS inside the mkv file (like I do) just use MKVMERGE GUI and add in the following file:
* none.srt (text file renamed to .srt) which contains 2 lines:
1
00:00:00,001 --> 00:00:00,002
This is added in as track 3 and set as "yes" for the default track for SUBS, set the original SUBS file (now track 4) to "no". Place the newly created file where ever you want. The end result is that you have the SUBS inbuilt into the mkv file, but as the dummy (none.srt) is blank it will not automatically show anything, unless you tell the program to switch to the other SUBS (the real one). This works on all progs I tried so far for Windows, including WDTV and XBOX as well.
Remember to leave your original files (from meech) in place to help seed for as long as you can, plus helps incase you make a mistake. Therefore do not write over or delete or move the originals until you have at least watched them all.

What should the aspect ratio be? When I play it with VLC, it defaults to 4:3. I know I can change it to 16:9. If it defaults to 4:3 does that mean it's meant to be played at 4:3?

@anyone For anyone who may be wondering, this is meant to be in 4:3. It was recorded and broadcast in 4:3, before the 16:9 HD widescreen format was popular.
