Rofl what a dumbass, I figured Id compare the MD5, Its kinda came out false. But, Thanks for torrent.Maharaja-Krishna (2009-05-13)
Especially for those (like me before) who are not veterans in Faronics DeepFreeze pay attention to these points:- Do NOT install the Deep Freeze Worksation 6.3.exe included in the torrent (best don't even bother to dl this shit) else you will find yourself with a froozen system, unable to unistall anything except by restoring the previous system state!! The reason is that after the setup one would need a password to be able to unistall / thaw but there is no password in the torrent! (Even the one mentioned in the doc file is NOT working!)
- Install the Deep Freeze Admin.exe and use the configuration administrator program to create a full workstation installation file (NOT a seed!). Then search for the faronics folder on c: (not possible to change the default installation directory or drive!!) and use the newly created (df6wkst.exe or something like that) file to install DeepFreeze workstation. After setup windows will reboot (I tried successfully with Vista SP1) and the partitions will be froozen. Type CTR+SHIFT+ALT+F6 to have the window appear and use the password you gave during the creation process to reboot thawed or uninstall later. NB: If you decide to unistall but to leave the (T:) thawed virtual partition (actually on c:) there seems to be no way left to unistall it properly later. One would need to reinstall DeepFreeze workstation again and to unistall everything (inclusive T:) afterwards...
- Unfortunately the console cannot connect the worksation if both are installed on the same OS... (at least I did NOT find out how!) so it is pretty useless for a standalone PC... I would uninstall it to free up system resources.
I hope this cave ats will save the butt of some of you... Anyway backup your system before you try to install such a sofware!!
- Finally be aware that with DeepFreeze (unlike with ShadowUser which very unfortunately has and probably will not be updated for Vista) there is no way to commit the changes e.g. to install something to test it and to keep it if it's not crap. Either you boot frozen or thawed and you have always to reboot to change the state.
