The release of the album is, according to the band's website, planned to be January 11, 2010 in the UK, and January 12 in the U.S. However, the album was already available on January 8 on iTunes. Just as their eponymous debut album, Contra is being released on XL Recordings. "Horchata" was released as a free download on October 5, 2009 on the band's website. Bubanee, you the cool cat, but I will not download! Why, because I am sick of all these "indie" bands playing the teenage heart throb blood sucking appearance just to make a deal when 98.9 of them SUCK BALLS! It is rad you uploaded it but I just can't take shit like that anymore. Then again cats are supper sick of hearing dubstep and I love that shit, so I guess to each his own. Ok, sorry about the type overkill.

@ArtiLLian I'm not sure how you came up with "teenage heart throb blood sucking appearance" to describe Vampire Weekend, though you're not the first, because they've received quite a bit of criticism in their time. Most of the people who criticize them though, are proven to be misinterpreting the actual meaning of the songs. If the only things you know about Vampire Weekend is the name of the band and that it's indie, and you were shallow enough to make that criticism of them based off of only that, then you are no different from all of those other self-righteous critics. Just because it's called "Vampire Weekend" doesn't mean that they actually have anything to do with vampires or have a vampire style. In fact, most of the other critics at least have the decency to criticize what they actually look like and call them preppy or Ivy League style which still doesn't correctly describe their music. Most of those critics try to make them out to be a group that thinks they're so smart and make music for rich kids, but that's completely wrong. That's only because the lyrics can seem cryptic at times, but they happen to be very well-done and having multiple meanings at times. What people don't understand is that they actually promote being more open to music and to people, which is the opposite of what those critics think. If you actually cared enough to criticize them, then like all the other critics out there- you should have done your research instead of making shallow assumptions.
