Metallica - Death Magnetic - Cleaned & Remixed from Stems

Metallica - Death Magnetic from GH stems (compression artifacts removed) Cleaned up, remixed, and remastered by Dochoots Special thanks to Bamboozy for providing totally solid flac stems. This is re-mixed and re-mastered from the GH3 FLAC Stems. I've enjoyed all the re-mixes online here, but although some of the mixes are great, they all have digital compression artifacts from the GH files. These artifacts are a warbling sound most noticeable in the intro to TWJYL after the heavy guitars come in. The artifacts are in every song. I took the guitar stems and cleaned them up by carefully stripping away the artifacts and doing my best to keep the original sound of the guitars. I added a little reverb selectively, a few other mix adjustments and mixed tracks down to stereo. I then added a little audio compression and normalized the track. It has a little more balls than the original output from GH3, but it's not as loud as some of the other mixes. I didn't want to clip it and add any more distortion. S&R has both solos (extended). Combining them was a little tricky and is not the same as the CD version. Also, their solos are longer so the song is now over 10 min. It is not totally faithful to the CD mix, but I wanted to make it the best in my mind? I think it is pretty good and listenable. Enjoy and if you like, please seed. -Dochoots

This seems to be an improvement over the raw GHIII rip, but I actually prefer Moderus' version for a "fixed" version of the album's original sound or DECEiFER's version for a more dynamic version of the album.

great job! i appreciate your preserving the dynamics and not distorting it like other mixes. could use more bass, but great otherwise.

For me this has some annoying and unnaturally "spikey" EQ choices, comparing My Apocalypse with DECEiFER REMiX and the original GH mix.
Not my cup of tea personally, but cheers for the effort. :)
