The least you could do is give the original organizer the proper respect and credit he deserves and remove these torrents until he has finished posting them. Oh wait that is right, you are going to post what he doesn't I forgot... Silly me.Thanks for nothing.

Hey comicfan or i should call you "comicthief" who gave you the permission to post these torrents? Show some respect (even now) to the original uploader and delete them!comicfan (2008-06-20)
Kalhas: who is really the thief?Do you claim to own the copyright of
the comic scans titles contained in the torrent file?
Even though we deeply respect and acknowledge your "intellectual"
property, we fail to see how an interpretation of the said directives
makes them applicable in this case.
NONE of the copyrighted data in question is published or ever stored on
our servers. Nor is any of the copyrighted data relayed through our
servers. The tracker merely provides .torrent files.
As to this day this activity is not prohibited by Swedish law and it's
our assessment that not even a wide interpretation of the E-commerce
directives makes them applicable to torrent trackers. Out activities
will therefore continue until this fact changes or Hell freezes over.

No i don't! But someone has tried really really hard for this chronology! So i claim that you stole his work! And what exactly you are doing? You stole the "stolen" so that make you Robin Hood or something? Have you ever created a torrent on your own? I don't think so. If you had, you could understand what i'm saying..marvelatty (2008-06-21)
You can't steal what doesn't belong to someone else. Chuck stole the comics from Marvel. Since he doesn't own them (they're stolen property, after all), he can't create something with them and then claim that it belongs to him. If the comics were in the public domain, then sure, he can arrange them and claim copyright over the specific arrangement (but still not the comics). These comics are not in the public domain. You can rearrange someone else's property all you want but it's still not yours. Marvel still has reason to complain, but not Chuck, now or ever. If he chooses to post no further torrents, then I guess his original motivation wasn't to share comics but rather to draw attention to himself.marvelatty (2008-06-21)
Rishab: Chuck stole comics from Marvel when he made electronic copies and started giving them away. You know that you can buy (and own) music, movies, and other creative work but not copy it for others, right? You do know that? If Chuck bought his comics fair and square, then he has the right to own them and read them as much as he wants. But he's a thief when he copies them and puts them here (or anywhere else). I don't care that he's a thief. I just don't like that he is a hypocrite - someone who thinks that he can take whatever he wants from others but no one can take anything from him.As for me uploading Chuck's comics and the rest of the chronology - nah! (I know Chuck. He'll be back real soon. He can't stand not being the center of Marvel chronology attention.) In the past, I've posted terabytes of stuff here, on Demonoid, and elsewhere. Under a different alias, of course! Does that make me a 'super uploader'? Like I said, it ain't the piracy, it's the hypocrisy! Chuck should have posted the Marvel chronology, period. That was a wonderful thing. But how many times has he 'threatened' to stop posting? How many times has 'told' people what they can and cannot do with 'his' torrents? Such passive-aggressive 'bullying' undermines the true worth of his contributions.
Years ago, a guy named 'QuasiMojo' on Demonoid stuck his thumb in his mouth and pulled all of his Lynda.com torrents. Oh, no! It's the end of the world, many fans of Lynda tutorials thought. But guess what? No one really needed him. More Lynda tutorials are available than ever before. Didn't you hear that the power of file-sharing relieves us of the need for tin gods like QuasiMojo and Chuck?
By the way, did you ask permission to post my messages on the h33t forum? I am outraged! We all must ask permission before we post what belongs to others, right? I'll have to check Drew's forum next, you pirate, you!
marvelatty (2008-06-21)
It feels so good when people confirm your opinion of them. Here's what good ol' Chuck recently posted on the h33t forum regarding the bad people who have uploaded his comic book torrents to Pirate Bay:"The nice thing about being rich is I have the means to find out things about others and that is something I have no problem spending money on. ... Who knows, the torrents on Pirate Bay may just mysteriously vanish one day and everything will be back to normal."
Let's see. Chuck is going to use his vast fortune to discover the identities of the people who defy him. And then he's going to make the Marvel chronology torrents on Pirate Bay 'mysteriously vanish'.
Microsoft can't do it. Sony can't do it. Warner Bros. can't do it. But Chuck can do it, he can actually do it - he can remove torrents from Pirate Bay.
We're really chucked now...
marvelatty (2008-06-21)
Rishab: Wrong again. I could care less about Pirate Bay itself. I'd have made the same posts if the torrent site were Demonoid, Mininova, or anywhere else. I accept completely the premise of file sharing, which is free, unrestricted, non-profit exchange of information and entertainment, with no ownership, no strings, and no one telling me that a particular torrent is 'off-limits' and can't be reposted where many more people will be able to download and enjoy it. I respect and admire Chuck for his hard work. But now that he has made it public, he can sit down, shut up, and experience the same loss of control that every artist feels when their work is put taken from them and given to the masses.marvelatty (2008-06-21)
Rishab: Simply put, it's because I don't care about Chuck's comic books, and because I know that he (or someone else) will surely continue if the need exists. I care about what I explained in my last post. I believe there's a principle at stake here that goes well beyond seeding torrents or making sure that some fanboys get their wishes fulfilled. Blame Chuck for not following through on his heartfelt desire to share comic books with all those people who otherwise wouldn't be able to read them. What's more important to Chuck - his ego or his mission? Hmmm...Kalhas: you got me laughing, thanks! You wrote that you spent 10 whole days putting together your Wizard magazine torrent. How many YEARS do you think the Wizard editors and their writers spent in creating the material you so quickly organized? And yet you claim ownership? A clerk doesn't own the store. I'm sure your torrent will find its way here (and elsewhere) soon. Go publish your own magazine and then I'll feel sorry for you when some clerk scans all your issues and posts them in a torrent.
