What in the world were you thinking by putting hard coded English subs on top of an English speaking film? Mistake or stupid?

Jenna_PT (2010-06-07)

This download is legit, the audio/video is fine, and I appreciate the effort from the uploader, but there's just one thing I can't quite wrap my head around:
What the heck would possess someone to upload an English movie with HARDCODED ENGLISH SUBTITLES!?!?!?!
I totally understand adding an optional subtitles file... but hardcoded?!?! It just doesn't make any sense!
It's completely useless, and most of all, EXTREMELY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!
So, as a msg to the uploader: The next time you're thinking about whether or not to add hardcoded subs... Please don't!

@Jenna,
If by "fine" you mean that the A/V is out of sync by about 1.5 seconds, then yes I also agree, this is perfectly fine. I also wish to applaud the one that hard coded the english subs on an english speaking movie. Now deaf people can enjoy a movie about country music.
