Description:

This is the debut album from the Black Keys. Thanks to obmen for the original release of this in WMA Lossless. I am re-upping it in FLAC for those that prefer this format like I do. It didn't come with any documentation or log files but I had a listen and it sounds like lossless to me. Post below if you'd disagree. Track List: 1. Busted 2. Do The Rump 3. I'll Be Your Man 4. Countdown 5. The Breaks 6. Run Me Down 7. Leavin' Trunk 8. Heavy Soul 9. She Said, She Said 10. Them Eyes 11. Yearnin' 12. Brooklyn Bound 13. 240 Years Before Your Time Remember, Lossless files can be converted to any format without loss of quality (unless your converting to a lossy format) so these are perfect copies of the original audio from the CD. Enjoy your listening experience...

I downloaded the same lossy WMA file that slavetothesound did. There is no way this is lossless format. I have all the other TBK albums in lossless. Please notice:
Windows Media Audio (WMA) is the most common codec of the four WMA codecs. Colloquial usage of the term WMA, especially in marketing materials and device specifications, usually refers to this codec only. The first version of the codec released in 1999 is regarded as WMA 1. In the same year, the bit stream syntax, or compression algorithm, was altered in minor ways and became WMA 2.[13] Since then, newer versions of the codec were released, but the decoding process remained the same, ensuring compatibility between codec versions.[13] WMA is a lossy audio codec based on the study of psychoacoustics. Audio signals which are deemed to be imperceptible to the human ear encoded with reduced resolution during the compression process.
I have listened to the file and I am sure that it is not lossless. It is a lossy format. I would advise not using this file.
thanks! :)
I advise the owner of this torrent to remove it. It is of unknown sources. It is bad for the lossless community to do things like this. Just wait until you get the CD and then post. Or I wil buy it and post, but don't do this!

I have quite a comment for this, but I can't even post a quarter of it.

#1 - Is there something about "WMA Lossless" that I don't understand? The lossless part in the name of "WMA Lossless" means that it is, in fact, lossless. Do not think less of the format because it shares the .wma EXTENSION with its lossy predecessor. I uploaded this because there were people complaining about the format so I converted between lossless formats to FLAC with dbpoweramp which should keep everything lossless.

#2 - I admit that I should not post things from unknown sources, but as it was already out on the web, and I left a disclaimer above that it came with no documentation, so I don't think this is a bad thing for the community. It is a good thing to make things more convenient for your peers. That's part of what the internet is about: convenience.
#3 - Let me know if I'm missing something important here. Some piece of common knowledge that I don't understand and am making an ass of myself because of.

#4 - This torrent has been deleted at Demonoid but will remain online here. I'd like to point out that the original uploader of this album (local Pirate Bay user, Obmen) has uploaded quite a few popular releases in his preferred WMA Lossless format and not a single person has questioned their quality.
#5 - If any of you have got this on CD, please upload it here in FLAC with documentation so that we can all have a copy of undisputed quality. Thank You.

Also, you have to remember when listening to it to decide for yourself, This is the Black Keys, who are known to be very mid-fi in there recording techniques.
This was long before they'd seen the inside of a studio as well. They recorded in nasty basements and an abandoned rubber factory. This album in particular was recorded using just 2 mics and had no producer other than themselves.

FINALLY: To separate this from my normal high quality releases I have left the seal of quality (TQMP) out of the title. I am keeping good documentation here of where *I* found this. The source is not being changed or claimed as my own. And it is partially known. I am doing nothing bad for the community and YOU are bad for the community by implying that very active, contributing, documenting members are hurting it.
Though you made a valid point or two, they don't all apply. Do some research and think about what you say next time.
Sorry for the crankiness. It's been busy.
