Without writing a small novel in here, try checking the manufacturer's site for supplementary tutorials/manuals and/or google as efficiently around your product's details until you run into some interesting stuff. HOWEVER: There may very well be an .exe that'll initiate it remotely. Either way, your AV software may overlook the filepaths.

Gazai, that what OCR is (optical character recognition). It's software (a form of artificial intelligence) that "tries to find characters in images". C-H-I-L-D, a lot of the torrent is unrelated to scanning, scan conversion/processing, and OCR, like the crackers, the optimizing/maintenance stuff, the photo editing stuff (get GIMP), Openoffice (that's over 100mb alone), and the "Anime_Manga Toolz". I know you wanted o make this available, but if you make it too big, most people will have trouble downloading it at all. Great stuff, though, don't get me wrong. A lot of it I've never even heard of! :D

If you can't ID a specific threat but are still suspicious, scan through a virtual machine/site and tryout running sandboxed!
