nope...
legend has it that the shows are filmed on some hillside in austin, overlooking downtown
not so!
they are filmed in a tv studio at ut austin which is on 'the drag'... and technically and ever-so-slightly north of downtown... where both the state capitol bldg and the famous '6th street' are located :)
... the very large mural photo seen in the episodes IS taken from a viewpoint in south austin, however :P
