I'm quite new at this.. I started of a few days ago, the quality of the rips has improved as I've changed filters and encoding parameters. But I think the "worst" ones still is good enough.. Please tell me what you think, have I encoded them too hard? AVI is a wrong container for h264 videos. MP3 VBR from CD Audio (normalized) is better than AAC.

@ROKKETARO90: There's no "wrong" container, but I agree mkv is a better container, it's just that mencoder doesn't output to mkv.. not a problem but it will take another step, maybe worth it, we'll see if I even continue those releases..;) And about mp3 vs acc, at higher bitrate it doesn't really matter, and on lower aac is better..

ACC has crappy support. MP3 has excellent. Also, the deinterlacing? is kinda bad, with some jagging on diagonal lines.
Please use MP3 and do more releases, there is NOT enough HQ music vids out there. Great that you do the effort!

@thklinge: I have a few just waiting for release, but I just might use mp3 from now on, as you said it is supported by most, but then again, might this and all other HQ releases from ppl force ppl to upgrade and so on?

What program can play these files? I cannot get any sound. G-Spot says audio codec unknown. I tried Windows Media Player with FFDshow, VLC. Nothing works.

OK. I was able to get sound after converting files back to mp3 with video converter "Super" from eRightSoft. It's freeware. Check it out.
Come on, man. Convert your files to mp3 or something else. Because your AAC files contain some error.

next batch (vol.3) will be encoded with mp3, but it annoys me that ppl can't figure out simple things like installing codecs, or in some cases not installing too many.. fresh vlc install works like a charm...

triptec...I have the latest codecs...and not a single audio file works.
your format is screwed. comments about how people can't figure out how to install a fresh VLC are bullshit.
try using a format that actually works...aka .MP3 and .avi
.mkv and .aac are hideous formats that are hated. very little support for them, and the quality is so so
