For those of you drooling to get this like I was. You can calm down, it was quite dissapointing. If you've seen those dev video log things the people who made it released...
Here's an example that'll give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.
One of the video diarys were entirely about the main character. Isaac Clarke, blah blah who is he? Does he have issues with his father? What motivates him? They managed to convey the idea that they put a lot of work into that...
Throughout the entire game he doesn't say one word. He's just this silent emotionless dolt staring blankly at people through that helmet of his. Even when people adress him directly, he doesn't respond.
Spoilers ahead. The strongest emotional response he manages is to facepalm when he finds out his girlfriend is dead...
Decent game, but no where near what was promised.

Yes. But probably not in the way you'd hope.
They seemed to be very happy with the ragdoll effect. And for some reason gravity doesn't seem to have a very good hold on the corpses. And since most of them drop items for you, you'll have to walk into them to get it. Meaning you'll have monsters breakdancing like it was 1999. It's made me laugh a few times, all the while hammering the last nail in the horror game coffin.

Well I'm getting frustrated. :/ I've installed the game twice and keep getting the "program has encountered an problem" error. I'm running XP and the game wont run at all with the crack. If I remove the crack and put the old dll file back in the folder I get that EA product checker thing and it obviously fails. I either need a working crack or something is wrong.

You have the image file, U download winrar ,U extract the files to a new map, U install the game,and u use the codes i posted when it asks for it under the installation!!!!
After install
U go in to C/program/Electronic Arts/Dead space, and delete the PAUL.DLL file. U download a cracked PAUL.DLL file and put it in there. U copy the dead space shortcut to ur desktop and CLICK IT, then u finish the game and be happy!

Hypergame, the solution is here: , you probably have a joystick connected to your pc right? So unplug it. If that´s not your case, so do as the fellow on the website that i posted done: "...after 10 mins on the EA forums some bright spark has sussed you need to edit the joypad text file to turn off the "rigthstick" to make the game ACTUALLY WORK with a mouse."

Works great!!!
The gamingview is a bit special, just like in the game Cold Fear, but you get used to it fast.
For those who have a mouseproblem, as it was said here before, it´s caused by a external device, like in my case it depended on my Saitek steeringwheel. Just unplugged it and the problem was solved.

Get PowerISO you can probably download it on this website. Open DeadSpace after you download it with PowerISO. Mount image to whatever drive. Open "My Computer" and click on drive with Dead Space on it. It should start installing from there.

I have the crack and the paul.dll but like I don't know where the original one is. Because I found it in another zip file and I extracted that. I replaced the 3 files except that paul.dll then I put my paul.dll in the folder of all the extracted data. How do I like reinstall the game now or whatever. Ok...lets start again with a fresh install. No probs matey, just follow this. Add/Remove programs, uninstall Dead Space & delete any remaining folders in Program files.
You don't need to extract anything from the original Dead Space rar. file. Just mount it directly with Daemon Tools. Do this by right clicking Deamon on the toolbar near your clock - Virtual DVD Rom> Device . Find where you downloaded the rar. file to & click on it. The rest will take care of itself. It will ask for the CD Key I gave you above. Copy & paste it into the letter boxes.
Run the install.
When you click the Dead Space icon on desktop it will ask you for a further code. Close this. Open Programs>Electronic Arts>Dead Space. Keep that open. you will see the original paul.dll in the list. Now open the rar. file from the link I gave you & pull the cracked paul.dll into the Dead Space folder. It will ask you if you want overwrite it. Click yes. Reboot & you should be good to go.

The only way you can burn to a DVD is if you buy a Dual Layer DVD and have a Dual layer DVD burner. Dual Layer DVD's can hold twice as much memory.

I have tried three diferent cracks, all with the same result: The game loads, and shows the menu. I click "New Game" and it starts loading. As soon as the loading is complete, the game crashes and leaves me with the classic windows-error.

If it's a .ISO file then the crack or the serial is on the .ISO file..
Let me try to explain. After you have mounted your .ISO file then you go to "My computer" and there ( if you have done it right) should you could see the .ISO file and when it's mounted then it's look like you have the original CD/DVD in your computer.. Then you left click on the CD/DVD there have Dead space in it's name and click on open and when you have done that so you should be able to see a crack folder (:

Torrent is great, but Im not wasting more time on this faulty game. I did everything I could(vsyncoff, enforcing it through vid card panel, triple buffering etc etc) and it still takes about 10(Im not kidding) rows with the mouse to turn 180 degrees.

If you're having problems with your mouse while ingame (lag), and you have an nVidia graphics card, go to the nVidia control panel and turn on "Force Vsync on" and turn off vsync while ingame.
Or try lowering the Max Pre-rendered frames.

Sorry. Disregard my last rant. After digging a little, I found my sluggishness issue was related to vsync.
If you have nVidia and are having slow mouse movement and LOOOOOONG load times, be sure to turn OFF Vsync in-game and turn it ON in your nVidia control panel.
The game reacts very snappy and reloads almost immediately now.
It's still a frustrating game, but it's at least fun to play now.

Works great! Isaac is a little too far to the left as in I can't see his health bar, but it's fine. Also, mouse and keyboard movement is a little choppy. You just need to play around with some visual settings to fix that. Make sure you listen to m3dic, he's the one who helped me

inside the crack u will find a serial and paul.dll file.
mount the dead space iso and autorun and install
enter the serial from the crack and complete install
goto C:>>program files>>electronic arts>>dead space
Now look for the paul.dll file....and replace it with the PAUL.dll file from the crack
thats it...now go play and stop saying there is a trojan

Started up fine, works fine, but I had to throw it away, since this is Third Person in a way I don't like. What a waste. EA should turn this into a proper FPS instead as they planned first.

I can't get this game to work. I've followed Maynard46's instructions to the letter but when i click to play, I get the message 'Dead Space.exe has stopped working'. Freebird and everyone else having problems with deadspace.exe stop working, I had this torrent a long time ago and lost it and ever since I redownloaded it I've been experiencing the same problems. If you have an xbox controller plug it in and try opening it again, it should start. You can play the game with either mouse or 360 controller but for some reason I need the controller plugged in to start. Hope this helps!!
