1000 years of Icelandic Churchmusic (Smekkleysa) [OGG] [twistle]

Now for something rather different and obscure ... Most of the music here has been arranged specifically for the choir, much from folk origins (1,2,5,7,9,10,12,13), making the overall sound far more contemporary than one would expect from music of the periods on offer. Tracks 14-18 are in any case a wholly modern composition of a mass setting (1982). All the texts are of early composition. Some very interesting and ethereal sounds on this CD. Hi twistle. I\'ve just found your post after having given up a while back. A lucky re-visit! After a quick dl I\'m listening to some really lovely \'different and obscure\' music. Many, many thanks.n(I\'m just starting to learn about this torrent stuff and realise patience is required! Been stuck for ages with Ravel\'s trio sonates and Buxtehude\'s membra Jesu nostri. When I\'ve got the courrage I\'ll have a go at sharing some of our music.)
