Ok.... After Extracting The Left 4 Dead archive Copy This zip.exe file To The Extracted Folder replacing The Old zip.exe File >> BEFORE << Running The SETUP.bat File This Will Solve The Problems With : Can't Find background image 'materials/console/backgroundo1.vtf And So On....

For those who hadn't used the fix BEFORE installing the game :
extract zip.exe (the fixed one), data2.zip and make a bat file with these 2 lines :
zip.exe x -y data2.zip >nul
del /F /Q data2.zip >nul
So you don't need to reinstall all the game. ;-)

I wonder if someone would help a poor sap out. I've installed the game, using the fix, and it starts up but won't get past the intro. It quits to desktop right after with this message: could not load Library matchmaking.
Any help, please?

Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\bin

Change >>FOR

I get one more Error a engine error, it says
Unable to load version from steam.inf
