The video is XviD (Mpeg-4 Part 2), the audio is mp3 (MPEG-1 Layer-3) and the container is avi.
Don't confuse containers with data streams.
Think of a container as a box that you put things in but each type of box can only hold certain types of things. In the case of this video it's a XviD (Mpeg-4 Part 2) video stream and a mp3 (MPEG-1 Layer-3) audio stream inside an avi container (.avi file extension) A mp4 (.mp4 file extension) normally contains a x264/H264 (Mpeg-4 Part10 (AVC)) video stream and an AAC audio stream.
In short it's an avi not a mp4.
