@darksniper87 maybe i will wait for the update of the new loader. hope its still works with the 2.0.0.2 stryder release that i downloaded coz the only problem with that is only the error on exiting the game. annoying lol. tested on 4 pc's playing via LAN simultaneously with no problems. pls. keep this page updated darksniper87. thanks.

OK MY SORRY MAN.That stupid TC archiver didn't opened all files, so my L4D2 folder had only 1,7Gb. Opened with WinRar (didnt use it for long, TC archiver worked all times ) and everything ok.All files, working....thanks and sorry again

So the lack of a ton of comments must mean this works. I've downloaded it and am currently seeding! I just haven't tried it out yet because I don't have enough space on my BootCamp partition. Damn Dragon Age: Origins and it's 15gig install!! haha

The games works perfectly fine for me, its amazing and thanks a million darksniper.
One question though: When i try to start the game via garena it crashes after the intro :S
i did everything as written in the instructions but still i get this msg:
the executable you set may not connect to the virtual LAN with non-standard executable, would you like to start with compatible mode ? Click YES to start with compatible mode and NO to start normally".
The options are only YES and Cancel and whichever i press, the game crashes again after the intro.
Any idea how to fix it ?

don't overwrite folders, copy whats inside the folder to make sure nothing is deleted. it will replace the old ones and the new ones will be copied.

how to play via lan?
start l4d2 & press ~ for console then type "map c1" (all c1 maps will appear) do that up to c5. choose which map u will play then press enter. wait till the game loads then your neighbor pc connected in the same network as yours can detect what map u have created. it will be listed down their screen Steam Group Servers, just click that and join the game, thats it. no hamachi needed or garena. just plain l4d2.

First off, thx darksniper87 for your time. When I try to open IniGen.exe I get that the app failed to start because its configured incorrectly. Then when I try to simply start the game, It tells me that I need to start steam. What am I doing wrong?

awesome! no problems with mine whatsoever. i've been playing all weekend.
but i do have one question.
i've already beat the game several times (xbox and PC) and i want to mess with cheats just for fun.
i get a message saying that i have to create my own server to use the sv_cheats 1 console command, but i shouldn't have to if i'm playing offline single-player, right?
is there anyway around that?

first get 7zip (just google that)
after you install that, select all the files you download, and right click them, select 7zip, and select "Extract to..." then extract them to a folder or anywhere, then explore that folder once it's done
there should be a l4d2regkey.reg file - simply double click that, and it'll add the registry to your computer

yeah, but the thing is that when i'm in single player and try to use sv_cheats 1, the console says i have to be the server host.
indicating that i should be hosting a server in single player mode.. i guess?
that's what i'm trying to learn how to do.

well in that case, just do map c(...) and choose what map you wanna start off in. that should do it! (basically just starting a campaign map, which is the same as single player)

go into the console `
type "map c..." where ... is the map you play (campaign 1/2/3/4/5, map 1/2/3/4/5)
after that you can type versus or survival or whatever mode you want, but it will be a campaign game if you don't have anything afterwards
then your buddies should see the game under "campaign (or whatever mode), steam group servers"
then click join and have fun :)

i need help : game crashes for me:(
i downloaded this torrent....then extracted it.
I then downloaded this mega patch " and replaced all the files into the game directory.
Then i ran "l4d2regkey.reg" file and added it to windows registry.
i followed this mega patch steps to launch the game...i first ran "IniGen.exe"(entered a name and didnt close it)..then i ran "left4dead2.exe"...wen i started the "single player", game loaded to 100% then crashed without any error.....:(
i closed that "inigen.exe" ran the "Start Left 4 Dead 2.bat"...this time game loaded to 100% and then freezed on the loading screen.....had to restart my pc...
does anyone know how to fix this....please help..!
i installed MSvisual c++ 2005,2008 and i also have Dot Net 3.5 installed...
please help me out.....

@814320 the problem is that the way you are going to do this is by using Poweriso full version to mount all the files to a fake cd drive, then just double click it and it will start with the install for REAL

Okay, unless I missed it, either no one has experienced or addressed this problem. I couldn't find any solution online. So I'm hoping someone here will have an idea on how to fix this. It's a sound issue. Everything runs perfectly until starting a single player game. The gunshots are severely muffled, and there's no audible player dialogue. All the other sounds work fine. Even bullet ricochets. I tried the rebuild and update audio cache commands and they did nothing. Any help, please? I'd really like to fix this.
