what i am doing is transferring the file to a usb and playing it on my 360. avi and mp4 files are supported so if its not just look for a converter and you should be good hope this helps and thanks for the upload :P

There are almost countless ways to do this. The easiest being putting the movie on a flash drive, then plugging that in to a USB drive on your TV or receiver. The next easiest would be to buy an HDMI cable that you can plug directly from your laptop to your TV, and using the Windows Projector Settings, you can play it like that with HDMI quality.
The BEST way, though it requires more leg work and a small investment, is to purchase a pack of blank DVDs and download a program such as "ConvertX to DVD". This will convert any file to a type that can be read by most DVD players, but NOT PS3s or Xbox Ones, in my experience.

Audio track is off from the video maybe a 1/2 sec or so on this vid. Kind of annoying when you have an eye for detail otherwise the picture quality is 9/10
