Richard Long was one of Warner Bros contract players and WB liked to have its stars appear in other shows - fans like it too. He starred in Bourbon Street Beat as the same Rex Randolf and even appeared on Hawaiian Eye as the same character in 1960. In 1961, he became a partner in the 77 detective agency.
Earlier he had played a bad guy, yes, but so had Ed Byrnes in the pilot episode. Long also played Gentleman Jack Darby on the Maverick western series. Later he was Jarrod Barkley in The Big Valley. :)
