you know, this no seeding thing kinda makes me want to kick a baby porpoise.

rhcpkiedis1983 (2008-12-30)

I'm trying to seed this thing. For some reason I can't get it to work...

rhcpkiedis1983 (2008-12-30)

There we go!

This is a re-encoded rip from a 128kbps rip.. Thanks for the upload, but i need to inform people before downloading it that this quality is worse than the 128kbps rip

 LosslessDude (2008-12-31)

Thanks Kostas...
How do you know it was just a re-encode?

 LosslessDude (2008-12-31)

I will have to respectfully disagree...
I compared them myself, and this torrent does in fact sound better than the others...

kostas4949 (2009-01-01)

I did a spectral analysis with adobe audition and it stucks at 16khz which indicates a 128kbps source.. I'm almost sure it is a re-encoded one.. Correct me if i'm wrong though

 LosslessDude (2009-01-02)

Hmm, as far as I can tell (im not a pro here at all)
Herz does not determine the bitrate...
Hence you could encode a song with a low frequency and high bitrate...
I could be wrong tho
If you could throw me a link to educate me more on the subject I would appreciate it...
I'm very interested of finding out what torrents here have true bitrate and whats just been re-encoded...
Thanks...
Peck

I'm not a pro either, i just got this info from a private tracker(so i can't give u a link about it, i can just c/p it) and i hope it's accurate :)
"Most lossy encoders use a low-pass filter when encoding. The filter is set to cut frequencies above a certain point and leave those below. The reason they're doing it is, that high frequencies are more difficult to encode and hearing is less sensitive in higher frequencies. MP3 encoders at 128kbps will typically use a LPF at 16kHz. As you raise the bitrate, the frequency threshold raises. At 192kbps the LPF is usually set at 18kHz or higher."
"To view the spectral analysis of audio files in Adobe Audition, first ensure you are in Edit Waveform View by pressing the number 8 on your keyboard. Then, go to File > Open and select the file you wish to test. Adobe Audition will open the audio file in the "Waveform View" by default each time, so you'll need to choose View > Spectral View or press F9 to switch to Spectral View."

Thanks for all the help,
I did the spectral analisis and see what you mean, my 320bitrate songs have Hz up to 22 and this torrent only goes up to 16Hz, soo it does seem to be an re-encode...
But I still think it sounds better!lol
Thanks for the help, and the recommendation on the adobe audition...
No more fooling me! : P

kostas4949 (2009-01-03)

Well, ur welcome.. I didn't know those things for a lot of time too :P

 fuckthesystem1 (2009-01-09)

here's the album at a true 320kbps.. it was encoded from a WAV (downloaded from domino.com) to a 320 CBR mp3. and it sounds amazing
