hey sargan, I'm pretty useful as far as computer stuff goes, this file has me stumped, here is what happened , I got your file complete, scanned it ( IT IS CLEAN) un rared the file got a file with 3 other files in it , clicked on gen.exe .....now here is the funny part , it said i had to open the file from the install directory....but i am trying to install it ( catch 22 ) you see ,, I tried a few other things but nothing works it keeps telling me the same thing ,now , i can't open it form the install directory if I can't install it,. STUMPED

You first have to install the game itself, then apply the patch.

sometimes you have to put the patch in the actual folder you have the game installed in. example: c:programs/EA games/command and conquer zero hour/

after you put it there then you click it and install the patch. then it effects the files around it. :)
