Description:

Kickbox is a brand new, totally homemade project, a simple powerful hack of the fluxbox window manager. Kickbox gains a graphical dimension by combining Fluxbox with KDE applications, especially Konqueror and KPager, and adds: more dynamic, user-oriented menus built-in templates for easy customizing An organized approach to keyboard shortcuts And \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"Kickpage\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", an extended Konqueror homepage, for fast navigation and function. Someday, Kickbox may be its own window manager, but right now it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s just a group of files to copy to ~./fluxbox. Requires fluxbox, kde, firefox, and for best performance in setting backgrounds, the imagemanager known as feh maybe helpful. Released under the GPL. Uh, that's supposed to be "the image viewer known as feh", not the image manager.

In case anybody is interested:
Right now, I'm doing all the seeding. The torrent is seeding daily, but it's not being seeded 24/7.
Right now, I'm working on the blog
http://www.allaboutkickbox.blogspot.com
If nothing else, the blog should eventually become a good place for tips on running fluxbox.
After that, I intend to continue to improve kickbox, while figuring out how to hack the Fluxbox source code to create a full-fledged window manager. That means learning about C programming.
I'm not a programmer, and kickbox is not a programmer's hack. It is a desktop user's hack. It's what I came up with after three years of refining Fluxbox to serve my desktop needs. I think it's the best desktop interface I've ever used. Anybody could do what I have done, and in seeking to "improve" fluxbox, I know full well that, in a sense. I have sought to improve perfection, and that can only result in something less perfect. Fluxbox is meant to be neutral, something the user can shape to the user's own needs. Even if I succeed at this project beyond all expectations, Fluxbox will always be cooler than Kickbox, in much the same way that Debian will always be cooler than Ubuntu.
