Sorry. Yeah, short stories. Made the mistake of assuming that everyone would have heard of Ray Bradbury. Apologies.bombertonforty (2008-07-19)
One of the better science fiction guys, eh mate ...nightissuchproximity (2008-07-25)
Hello, bombertonforty. Yes, he really did have a golden quill. And check out his screenplay for Moby Dick. Gregory Peck would have been nothing without it. There would not have been any St. Elmo's fire. And Herman Melville would be a name long consigned to the trash bin of history.mguima (2008-07-27)
He is much more than a "science fiction guy". Thanx, Nightissuchproximity. You don´t owe apologies to who haven´t heard of him. They owe apologies to themselves...nightissuchproximity (2008-07-27)
@mguimaWhat a lovely comment. I will treasure that one. I don't have copies of these two...but I
point you in the direction of the short stories
"The Lake" and "The Emmisary". Not sure 'bout my spelling. They are Ray's two greatest short stories ever. And may I also suggest that you read Lovecraft's "At The Mountains of Madness". A collection of his short stories.
Check out "The Outsider". Possibly the greatest short story of all time. And I trust you are all ready familiar with Matthew Shiel..."The Naked Ape and other Cereal Pulses". Another great collection of short stories. Xelucha.
Three days ago, by Heaven it seems an age. Help me, my memory is debauched. Tombs and worms and epitaphs...that is the fantasy of my dreams.
