AWESOME DUDE !!!Jappe (2008-09-30)
Uuhh... 30% of the picture is black bars, there have been no cropping. I think that I will wait for the PROPER release.sweatyrich (2008-09-30)
Guys,This is a BD5 release.
That means it's meant for BluRay players (although *can* be played back on the computer).
The resolution HAS to be 720 lines, which means that (depending on the AR of the film) ther will nearly always be black bars.
When played back on a BlueRay player (e.g. PS3), the bars are no different to the bars you would see playing ANY widescreen film.
If you want something to playback on the computer WITHOUT black bars, avoid BD5/BD9 releases.
SiemonP (2008-09-30)
Wow how is it even possible to have this allready :-P ...black bars are no prob , playback on my LCD via popcorn hour box gives bars anyway. And even if you would want to watch it on your PC it would allso add bars ...or are there 2.35:1 laptops or screens :-S ??? don't know ... anyway thanks for uploading this :-D
sweatyrich (2008-09-30)
4.13GB is the BIGGEST filesize that can still be written to a single-layer DVD *AFTER* the BluRay disk structure has been added to the mkv file. That's WHY this release is marked BD5.
If you want a bigger filesize or better bitrate etc and are not concerned about ripping a disk to playback on a BluRay player, then go get the OTHER bigger 720p release that is out and stop bitching on this post!

Hi sweatyrich. you seem to know your stuff and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. as i am new to hi res, was wondering the easiest way to burn this to dvd to play back on ps3.Many thanks.
playing_hooky (2008-09-30)
Many thanks for this fed_cri.sweatyrich (2008-09-30)
@playing_hookyChakra, the group who released this, have made it real simple for us.
Once you unpack the RARs, you will see a script file called mkvtoBluRay.bat (or something like that).
Simply double-click it and it'll walk you thru the easy steps to create a 720p "BluRay" disk (stored on a DVD5).
They even package the ImgBurn application used to burn the generated ISO file to disk.
How nice of them!
:-)
Done it loads of times with their previous BD5 releases, and they work a treat!
(Have a look in the nfo file for full instructions)

@angel40204there ARE larger versions of this movie available - You should know as you've already added comments to the torrents!!

Please do some resource before you slag off. It makes you look foolish.
An x264 encode of a DVD would be around 2GB, and would only give you a max resolution of maybe 850x, if it's anamorphic.
This CLEARLY states a resolution of 1280x720 - Hence the 720p.

@angel40204Quote
you right however for people who want it to fit into a dvd .
but what is the point?. since the quality is not better .
Actually I can tell the difference in quality immediately on playback. I regularly download .MKV's (even though they are only 720p) of roughly 4.3GB and when burned to a DVD I can already see the difference on my 46" compared to the original DVD version.

For christ sake, this is a wounderfull quality high def release of this loong waited movie, of witch there has only been a lame dark screener for months, and you are all bitching?Enjoy this and I am sure that in a short while there will be a super imba 1080p release.
playing_hooky (2008-10-01)
Thanks for the help sweatyrich. It's nice to see there are people out there still willing to help! to all the others who confused the issue, COCKS!playing_hooky (2008-10-01)

sweatyrich (2008-10-01)
@nibinDepends what you're gonna DO with it!
If it's simply to playback on your PC then go for the 2nd one, as the MKV file is slightly bigger, with a slightly higher bitrate.
If it's to watch on your PS3 (or other BluRay player), then you can ONLY do that with the first one.
nibin (2008-10-01)
I want to watch it on the ps3 ( blue ray dvd ) für my full HD Lcd TV, thx 4 info, but I´m gonna stick with this i think ->http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/4423113/Indiana.Jones.and.the.Kingdom.of.the.Crystal.Skull.2008.1080P.BL
sweatyrich (2008-10-01)
@nibinthat's fine but you WON'T be able to play it back on your PS3.
Yes, it has be RIPPED from a BluRay disk and YES it is in 1080p, but can only be played back on your computer, providing your computer can output 1080p.
nibin (2008-10-01)
of course I can, I always could, I just have to remux it to m2ts and I´ll be fine, or won´t I ? :)sweatyrich (2008-10-01)
@nibin - Yes, if you remux, it should stream to your PS3 OK. I've had problems doing that with DTS audio, but as this has got AC3 audio, is should work fine.Anyone who didn't have a clue what that just meant, just follow the instructions in this torrent's NFO and cut a disk
:-)
Nice to see that SOMEONE on here has a clue what they're on about.
Heh heh!!
nibin (2008-10-02)
Maybe you had the problem because you have to change the audio to 4.1 from 5.1, because the ps3 is not able to play 5.1.But I´m not sure, maybe that´s it, just google it.
thx 4 info anyway
ghomtuu (2008-10-02)
This is the worst fucking movie ever!willwill88 (2008-10-02)
@sweatyrichThank you for knowing what you're talking about and not misinforming/confusing people like angel40204 does.
@angel40204
A) there is a 1080p source available
http://www.scenereleases.info/2008/10/indiana-jones-and-the-kingdom-of-the-crystal-skull-2008-1080p-bluray-x264-outdated.html
B) proof that BD5 quality is better than DVD:

Nibin you have no clue what you are talking about!!PS3 plays 5.1 with no problems... What you are referring to is the AVC video to Level 4.1 because the PS3 don't support video at the AVC of anything above 4.1
This is nothing to do with audio and 5.1 surround.
