I did everything I was supposed to do, didn't work.

It won't allow me to change the permissions, anyone know what to do? I changed the iPatcher (3.7) which allows me to open it but it won't update the permissions.

figured it out, when it gives a list of failed permissions changes I had to go in and manually change them, now the patch works.

hey i have everything installed and i used this patch for it and im not doing the warlords part cause i just want the original game. anyways every time i try and run the civ4 app it says "Failed loading XML file

Followed the instructions down to every word, but just could not get it to work. Nothing went wrong. The cracks worked, but when i loaded the game, it just bounced for a while and then said the program was unresponsive.

Sorry about the problems with 10.5.4. I have not been able to figure out the issues some of you are encountering. I have updated to 10.5.4 and still no problems here running both CIV 4 as well as Warlords.
I am still waiting on IPatcher to launch a new patch package.

When i open this crack for civ 4 and select civ 4 app the file says that i can't apply the patch on the file. WHAT'S THE PROBLEM ?

Screw the download you can fix the problem yourself!
OK on Leopard I've gotten the error after applying the patches and following the prodecure. As soon as I did the following, iPatcher works!
You can use Terminal.app to make these changes. It is in your Applications folder. (and yes this is "Unixy stuff" folks... the real reason I love OS X :)
cd /usr/lib
sudo cp libcrypto.0.9.dylib libcrypto.0.9.dylib.old
sudo cp libssl.0.9.dylib libssl.0.9.dylib.old
sudo ln -sf libcrypto.0.9.7.dylib libcrypto.0.9.dylib
sudo ln -sf libssl.0.9.7.dylib libssl.0.9.dylib
As soon as I'd run those commands iPatcher is working

Then ran the cracks using pseudo, and can now play the game.

On the files u have problem with do the following: right click, show info, change 2 "Read and Write" and it should work.

you have to change the sharing permission settings for each of those files in the error code to 'read and write'.
right click on CIV4 app. file, select 'Show Package Contents'
goto, Contents, right click 'Info.plist', select 'get info'
scroll to bottom of 'get info' window, click lock icon, enter admin password, change the read only privelege for 'Sharing & Permissions' to 'read and write'.
close window.
go back to Contents folder and follow the same steps for all the files listed in the error message,
then you can patch the Civilization IV app. no problem
it worked for me on a leopard 10.5.7
