actually there are supposed to be 3 films in the chronicles of riddick series. (the first one has been made. the 2004 chronicles of riddick) pitch black is a prequel and is not considered to be part of the c.o.r. trilogy.

Into Pitch Black is a tv movie released in 2000, Pitch Black is the first movie of the trilogy and was also released in 2000 and Chronicles is the 2nd, released in 2004. Dark Fury is an animated short, also released in 2004 and if u go on Vin Diesel's IMDB page, they list a Riddick sequel due to be released in 2013, which is probably the final movie in the trilogy.
