Episode 1: Caesar This programme focuses on the most famous Roman of all - Caesar. Episode 2: Nero This programme focuses on Nero, charting his obsession with becoming a god, how his plans to turn Rome into a glorious city bankrupted the Empire, how he married his slaveboy and killed his beloved wife in a frenzy, and how he was finally overthrown. Episode 3: Rebellion This episode tells the story of the Jewish Revolt, which swept through Judea in AD 66 and threatened to destabilise the whole empire. Rome turned to the disgraced General Vespasian and his son Titus to put it down. Filled with spectacular sieges and huge set-piece action, the film pits the discipline and ingenuity of the Roman army against the passion and commitment of the rebels. Episode 4: Revolution Rome was once a largely democratic society, with regular elections. This Republic lasted for 500 years, but then came Tiberius Gracchus. He believed in the ideals of the Republic - fairness, decency and justice for everyone -but was appalled by Rome's aristocrats' treatment of the poor. So he unleashed the power of the mob upon the streets of Rome, with devastating consequences. Episode 5: Constantine This episode tells the story of how the Emperor Constantine brought Christianity to the western world. In AD 312, Rome was in crisis. The empire had been divided into four parts, each with its own emperor who fought one another. Constantine intervened and united Rome, using military might and a new religion - Christianity. Episode 6: The Fall of Rome In AD 410, the Goth hordes sacked the city. This event symbolised Rome's collapse. Within 70 years, the western empire - what we think of as Ancient Rome - was abandoned. But it should never have happened at all. If the episode length is 1.6GB and there are six episodes the total size should be 9.6GB, but you show a total of 8.1GB. How does that work?

Also it will be easier for people to identify if u explicitly mention video format in PAL/NTSC in title or in description, instead of 25fps.

thanl you very much for this upload. took 1.5 days to get which is not baf considering the size. being a bbc production the quality is great. i cannot seem to get the audio even when i use the latest release of VLC. can anyone help. i'm in ntsc country but that should not be a problem since my laptop is connected to my digital tv and i'm playing the files directly from the hard drive.

ehhm, this maybe a stupid question but why would you convert each episode individually. Now you need 6 dvd´s... 2 would be enough.
Aint it allot smarter to just make complete dvd´s?? containing 3 episodes each??

OMG...this is SO simplified it's like a comic book!
Just watched Caesar and can't believe how bad it is. IF you are looking for something more accurate, this isn't it. Production values up to BBC's high standards but that's all.
Any student of history will sit agape at the missing or misleading info despite the disclaimer at the start this is BASED on real histories (which apparently real liberties were taken with in the same vein as the Beeb's "Casanova")
We are totally surprised at how let down we are by Auntie Beeb on this one -- usually number one in the history arena.

The second disk was totally corrupted for me at least. It was laggy, it jumped from place to place, and the weirdes things were random sports casts and a few screens of a guy showing a woman how to bend over in tights :p
