It doesn´t seem to work for me either, when i change my graåhic settings in the game i need to "test the settings", when i do that theres a DLL-file missing, i think it was gamemanager.dll
Ans i cant find the file at dll-files.com
When i try to start the game nothing happens.

I downloaded railworks last night and works perfectly, when you download this open the folder where it says railworks setup compiled by john2s install it then when installed
IF YOU HAVE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE INGAME, DO THIS:
1) Go to C:\Program Files\RailWorks\Languages
2) Rename russian.lan to russian1.lan
3) Rename english.lan to russian.lan
4) Rename russian1.lan to english.lan

Works perfectly on my 6 year old XP PC.
Don't forget to install .NET Framework and PhysX. Both can be found in the Redist folder.

What a croc of shit,downloaded twice now,still get an error message about application setup wrong.
installed all in redist folder,Agia direct x ,net....
really it should still work before you swap folder names,but display in russian.still doesnt work

Setup 1,Setup 2,Setup 3.
I run Setup compiled by John2s.
Railworks Installs in Russian.
1) Go to C:\Program Files\RailWorks\Languages

Go into Railworks folder and run Start_RailWorks.exe
I get this era message-

Right, I have installed this fine. On 64 bit Vista, loaded it up runs fine everything is good.
What I did:
*Downloaded off here
*Installed it with the russian installer
*went into the Rail Works folder (located in your program files folder)
*changed it into English as explained above
*ran railworks
Everything done.
But, how do you actually get it into steam? I have the promotional code so any help on this?

If you are having problems with Railworksproc.exe crashing when you try and enter a train - I have found the answer.
You need to download the new version of Physx over at Nvidia.
The version below works:

Once I upgraded to the new version of Physx, Railworks hasn't crashed yet.

For those of you wondering how to install this, follow these instructions:
1. Open Railworks folder.
2. Open Redist folder.
3. Run NetFx20SP1_x86.exe
4. Run PhysX_6.10.25_SystemSoftware.exe
5. Open DirectX9 folder.
6. Run DXSETUP.exe
7. Return to Railworks folder.
8. Run setup.exe
9. Learn how to read Russian or click random buttons until it looks like it does something.
10. ???
11. PROFIT

How to get started:
This is for Windows 7 x64
1:Install all the redist in folder first
2:Right click setup(bring up properties) and click run as admiistrator and be sure to install to program files (x86).
3:Make sure all privledges are checked after eveything is installed.
4:Go to the installed folder and right click it and bring up properties and make sure read only is unchecked.
5:Now go and disallow internet access in your firewall or other program. I use my antivirus program firewall.
6:Now you have RailWorks.exe on your desktop.
Delete it.
7:Go into your Railworks folder and find the icon Start Railworks and send it to your desktop. Use it to start the program. There will be the message "You are not connected to the internet". Who gives a fuck, go down in the right hand corner of the window and click START and away you go.
Now there's a lot I left out as refering to language and all that, plus the update and do all that as has been already discribed in the other comments but I'm tired of typing and if your not familiar with navigating windows then learn.
Windows 7 is a little finicky about security but I guess that's a good thing; I've had it for 1 year and so far it does a good job and can't complain, I'm totin all my simulators with good frames on a laptop. Enough, later all.
