I read on torrentmas.com where this Torrent came from that everything has been fixed. The update is not causing dual channels. Wich means that you can run the update and dont be worried.
You DON'T have to patch the game with wiibrickblocker or regionfrii! And yes it will work on a Pal with wiikey.

all the movies between the scenes are gone. all of them were on the second layer of the dual layer disc. There is only one movie in this version that will play everytime between the scenes (the intro-movie). If you want to see all the diffrent movies I recommend you to download the DVD9 version.

Confirmed working on my PAL Wiikey 1.9G in 50 hz(60hz gave a black screen). I made sure my machine had the latest update. Still the game made an update which I watched nervously but it worked brilliantly.

You can burn this image with imgburn or nero. Speed: 4x maximum. If you problem with crashing mario just boot the with wii freeloader. Freeloader will fix allmost everything: 60hz and all crashing.

I can confirm that this works on D2CKEY.
There are some bugs however.
- Sometimes the game runs in slow motion ALL the time. Reboot required.
- Sometims the game freezes.
- Only one movie (But on the other hand you don't have to pay 6? for DL DVD)
- A green bar is flickering at the very top and bottom of the screen.
I burned it directly from ISO to DVD using Nero at 12x on a DVD-R. Nothing needed to be changed on the ISO in order to play on my PAL wii with d2ckey.

P.S. Some stuff in this game dont work (cuz its scrubbed to DVD5) for example: the WIFI does not work in battle mode, only in "watching" mode. And the movies does not work either, just as u all know, u can still play this game in adventure mode and thats great!

Also the sse doesn't save so I always lose all progress when I restart. The game also froze the first time a character challenged me. Has anyone else tried sse in coop? I'm gonna try it in solo now.

PAL 3.1E , D2CKEY , works :) do the update, it's actually not there, just a "fake" update that does not install anything on your Wii ... I don't like the game :) and don't get the hype about it , but :) enjoy ...
Still can't get which is the best controller, side oriented wiimote only seems to be the easiest though...

For those who want to see the cutscenes of the story mode they are on youtube, i just finished playing it watching the cut scenes on youtube alongside.
Big problem though is that i get the same error as vupper (discread error after you beat the final boss)

Mac22, Yeah I figured out whats causing it.
Apparently the green error in the end of subspace emissary is because of some files that needed to be replaced that weren't. Theres a fix out for it, I haven't tested it though. It's called SSBB DVD5 MOD v1.1

incognito_m0fa, you should stop confusing people, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. The 1.1 patch is not for the 001 error. I never said it was.
It's for a error that EVERYONE PLAYING THIS VERSION get when they finish the last boss in SSE, before the game saves.
If the iso file from this torrent can be opened by Trucha signer the 1.1 patch from the gbatemp url I pasted above can be applied to it.
For those who still don't understand there are a few files on the ssbb iso here that need to be replaced with the files in the 1.1 patch that the author of this torrent forgot to replace or didn't know about. Without this patch you can't finish SSE with the dvd5 version, simple as that.

Okay good, you checked out the rar. Those "diffs" need to overwrite the original sora*.rel files for SSE to work. This can be done on a pal patched dvd5 version of the game just fine as long as it can be opened in Trucha to replace those files.
This image is scrubbed so I'm not sure if it might work, but the uploader could easily do it.

You know the 1,1 patch doesn't cancel out the other patches or anything. They can all be used together. Those are just a couple of files that the uploader didn't replace.

What? It's not like those new files change the way you remove the 001 and the updates. It's still done the same way as before. The uploader of this torrent already did it to the image he uploaded so I don't see the problem? This 1.1 patch is just 3 or 4 files...

You downloaded the wrong thing, there are TWO links on that page, one for the ppf patch from VV, which you downloaded and has 2,1 in its name.
Then about 5 lines down theres another link to the SSBB DVD5 MOD v1.1 and guess what the download link's called? "SSBB DVD5 MOD v1.1". Go check it out.
How you managed to confuse those two when I specifically said "SSBB DVD5 MOD v1.1" is beyond me.

Step 5: Navigate to the the ROOT/movie/param/us subfolder and replace each file (118 total) with the files provided to you in the (us) folder. You have to replace these one at a time so it will take a few minutes. Just take your time and make sure you replace them all.

:) vupper, all this stuff we're speaking about made me sit down and make my own custom dvd5 from the wiizard ntsc-u rls :)
patched the wiizard rls with vv_ 2.1 mod it automagically scrubbs the iso too , so no need to scrubb the wiizard rls first ... than with WUM I've brickblocked the update, than with Generic Wii Patcher went and patched everything ... so the iso now is just great , and is made by me for me :)

Hi guys. I have just burned the ISO-file two times. The first time couldn't my wii read the disk, it didn't recognise it. The second time I burned it could it read the disk, do the update and then it's just goin DOOOWN. "An error has occured. Press the...blablabla...manual for help troubleshooting. I'm on my third disk now. Burning with ImgBurn on epro-disks. Need help if it doesn't work this time. Thanks for the update btw.

rockdiedout, some Wii's won't read DL discs. Dirty lenses etc. Dvd5 rip of ssbb is the only way for some people to play the game.

If u have that option checked it will verify what you burned on the disc after the burning is done.
I suggest you un-check it cuz it takes the double time to complete the burn if you have it checked.

Before u start u need to edit the reg file that comes with trucha, open the reg file with notepad then go to the line where it says:

Type in this instead of the zeros:
It should look like this:

Close and save the file and then double click it so it adds to the registery. Then open trucha and "select keyset" and choose "custom keyset 1"

Step 4:

Then in the same folder replace the sora_menu_title.rel with the sora_menu_title.rel file provided. Finally replace the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel with the sora_adv_menu_ending.rel file provided.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I have a USA Wii and downloaded this torrent and done nothing to it yet.
QUESTION: Do I need to use WIU to patch this to NTSC before burning so I can accept the update and not brick or semi-brick my wii? I opened it with WIU and it shows currently at PAL - thus don't want to burn as is for fear of getting a PAL update and semi bricking.

You have to do the update. I first downloaded it and removed the update with WiiBrickBlocker, and the game started with black screen. Then I got a version from my friend, I did the update from that disc, and suddnly both game discs worked. In other words, without the update it won't work

Downloaded this torrent, followed the steps in these comments to replace the files to get it 100% working.... then used WIU to remove the update, loaded it, got the logo in the channel, clicked it to start and got a black screen.
Wii firmware 3.2U Cyclowiz 3.5.
Fixed SMG with Trucha and that works fine..
...do I need to put the update back on this SSBB ISO even though I already have 3.2U ?

-still can't start it in 60Hz, even with deflicker off
-squirtle and mario both have watergun error
-I can't beat classic or all-star with Yoshi (haven't tried boss battles yet)
-special brawl also gives errors sometimes

I have an NTSC wii, with D2Pro9 installed. I ran brickblocker which removed the update, and of course, when I load the game, I get the black screen. Is there anything I can do about this? or do I need to re-download the game again so that I can run the update?
I've read that you can switch to 50hz, but I have no idea how to do that, and I've read it slows the game down alot as well.
Are there any alternatives to redownloading the game and running the update? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You have to do the update on the disc, or WiiBrickBlocker is just a stupid program. To get the screen in 50Hz, aim on the circle with 'wii' inside in the down left corner of the starting screen. Then choose 'screen settings' (or something like that, I have a Dutch wii) and then choose the third option from above

oh my god! dont use brickblocker (it sux) use "WiU1.1" i used that program to remove the update from Mario Kart and it works wonderful!
P.S. I run in 60hz ED/HDTV 480p and no lag, errors, crashes what so ever! I did the update since i have a PAL Wii but you should be able to remove it with WiU, you should try it...

it loads the startup picture but when i start the game my wii let me stare at a black screen.
i burn all my games with IMGburn @ 1x speed on Verbatin 4,7 gig DVD rom.
works for every game exept this one...

Burn with Nero at 4x speed and you get the following things (mine and others experiences):
Advantages:
-Classic mode works, even boss battle
-Multiplayer (not online) battles works excellent
-Training mode works, but sometimes the game will crash, reboot required
-Unlockables are excellent and without problems!
-Events works flawlessly
-Minigames such as Homerun and Coin battle works!
-Sound works fine
-Data, vault, options, replay works..
Disadvantages
-Movies such as ''How-to-play'' doesn't work.
-Often the game will be in slowmotion for the WHOLE time since you start it..Reboot will help
-Adventure (Subspace Emissary) mode does not work.
-Online does not work, except ''watching mode''
-The screen is a li'l bit moved, so it's not completely centered.
-Sometimes using Mario's Sunshine water pistol move the game crashes..

Don't know what you guys are on about when you say, the disk will update? But thanks to ozke, I got this working on my PAL System with 4.1e using NeoGamma R8 rc1. Before I read ozke post, game was in black & white or colour but slow motion I also got a blue screen depending on which PAL setting I used, thanks ozke, couldn't have done it without you ;)
