This rip has the same resolution as the DVD.
The quality is very good.
The file has been tested in MPC and VLC, and confirmed to work.
The aspect-ratio is automatically set to 16:9 without any problems, as well.

But, VLC is crap.
I recommend Media Player Classic (MPC) - together with the CoreAVC filter.
You can search on this site for "CoreAVC" and you will find it

Brilliant adaptation of the classic novel. This was Burton's last film, he had terminal cancer whist making it. The scene where he pulls Smith's tooth out had to be reshot numerous times as he could barely lift his arm up without excruciating pain :-(

I think it would be a good idea to edit the film, bringing it "up to date" into our current world, replacing Goldstein with Bin Laden, adapting dialogues, and so on. Could have a great effect.

Yes it is viewable and a fine piece of work it is. I had to use VLC to play it. I think VLC is "somewhat" ok but i will try to get the codec H.264 for WMP as VLC uses more video pwr than PowerDVD, WMP etc.

Yes you can watch the movie but the book is so much more important, you can feel the fears George Orwell had about this type of thing happening through his words that came from him. Truly a great book and probably a better movie, not sure as I just started downloading. & the speed is at 1.6 mb/s so i suggest you choose this torrent.

I *HATE* reading books, but I did read this one, and let me tell you...it's VERY worth the read. The book helps with the movie, and the movie also helps clear up things in the book, but the book is much more useful and important.

Good movie, but it's no substitute for the book. The amount of food for thought / "information" in a book is almost infinitely greater than what's possible in even the best film adaptation. From the movies you might think Moby-Dick is just a whale hunt with a crazy captain at the helm.

Lets start by saying that the quality is very good...well done!
Now lets consider some very interesting facts:
a. This RIP has as its soundtrack Virgin's Eurythmics-orchestral mix soundtrack and not the Muldowney orchestral score.
b. the movie from 1984 is not considered to be the most faithful adaptation of the book, so you sould also try the 1954 BBC version as well and someone should try to upload the rare 1953 US adaptation.
c. concerning Orwell you should always try to read the original novels because the CIA made some movies after his death (see animal farm & 1984) seriously altering his work.

Thanks for the upload! File is a bit bigger than I would like, but a good print. I will seed back. As for the film, it's quite well done. I like it better than the 1956 film version, which has its fans. But the spookiest is the 1954 TV production. Both of the latter are available on YouTube, at least when I write this. None of the films, and few readers of the book, make much of the book's Chapter 17, containing Orwell's real warning for the future, presented in the fictional political work, "The Theory and Practice of Oligarchical Collectivism", the scenario of which is becoming closer to reality day by day. If everyone would read and reflected upon Orwell's message (as it clearly is) in that fictional work, there might be a real revolution (or maybe not, because it would require brains and guts). Personally, it seems to me that the only major mistake Orwell made, was the date. His 1984 may be on track for 2024.
