Description:

******************************************************************************* Guys and Dolls (Joseph L. Mankiewicz, 1955) ******************************************************************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ (A REQUEST) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's usual to post comments only to attack a torrent which doesn't work in your configuration. It's normal, after a few hours/days downloading and expecting a release, to feel deceived if it doesn't work properly, and expressing this is legitimate. I've often found one comment (negative) on a movie/CD downloaded by 2000+ people, and since that single negative feedback, people simply stop downloading and therefore, sharing. But a few times it was due not to the torrent itself, but to some issues on the downloader side (not updated codecs, misused tools...), and that's unfair for the person who took the time to share it for free. IF YOU FIND THIS RELEASE DESERVES TO BE RECOMMENDED TO OTHERS, HELP BY DROPPING A LINE AFTER YOU'VE CHECKED IT. This way, You'll help in keeping the torrent alive, almost as much as keeping it in your HDD until a 1:1 ratio is reached. This material was fleshed out into a 2-act libretto by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling, then set to music by Frank Loesser and directed by George S. Kaufman. Opening late in 1950, Guys and Dolls was one of Broadway's hottest tickets for several seasons. The plot involves a certain Broadway citizen by the name of Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra), who maintains the "Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York." Seeking a location for his latest high-stakes game, Nathan has an opportunity to rent out the Biltmore Garage, but he needs $1000 to do so. He decides to extract the money from high-rolling Sky Masterson (Marlon Brando), known for his willingness to bet on anything. Nathan wagers that Sky will not be able to talk the virginal Salvation Army lass Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) into going on a date with him. While Sky goes to work on Sarah, Nathan endeavors to fend off his girlfriend Miss Adelaide (Vivian Blaine, repeating her Broadway role), who has developed a psychosomatic cold because of her frustrating 14-year engagement to the slippery Mr. Detroit. Thanks to some fast finagling, Sky is able to take Sarah on that date, flying to Havana for this purpose. By the time they've returned to New York, Sky and Sarah are in love, but their ardor cools off abruptly when Nathan, unable to secure the Biltmore garage, attempts to use Sarah's mission as the site of his crap game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CAST Marlon Brando - Sky Masterson Jean Simmons - Sarah Brown Frank Sinatra - Nathan Detroit Vivian Blaine - Miss Adelaide Robert Keith - Lt. If it works on your standalone player, good for you. You can always convert it to a regular DVD using tools as ConvertXtoDVD (on Windows, I'm sorry, I'm not into Mac/Apple). Size has been calculated in order to get the optimum PQ without oversizing the file, hence the irregular size of the file (not the usual 700Mb/1.4Gb rip). A rate of Bits/(Pixel*Frame) around 0.3 is perfect, above that point, picture quality becomes virtually the same to the original source, more space is redundant, useless. Check you have installed the right codecs, as listed in this .nfo file, before trying to play it. VLC will play this file without having to install any codec. If you don't like the codec(s), container, resolution, file size, languages or any technical aspect on this rip, keep it to yourself and if you're able, go and do your own. Serious feedback on quality will always be welcome. Enjoy it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
