lol its a good read but i thought it was on how to draw swords (with a pencil and paper) rarther than accutally real drawing thanks all the same

just to clarify... this has nothing to do with drawing or art. It is about pulling a sword from a scabbard .. ie 'sword drawing' . go figure.

Like in the old days of Western movies, cowboys and so on. You'd have a duel on main street and the fastest one to draw would shoot his gun and kill the baddie. Bang bang bang. Django did it again.

Some food for thought before downloading.
Shanktime....Respect to you for uploading the one and only material on Japanese Swordmanship.Just wish there was more.
Before downloading this ebook.
Make sure you are aware of the ryuha style there are litrally a little over a few hundred,in ancient times the Samurai once he had developed his own training went off to then ADAPT what he had cultivated, and thus founder his own ryu, which would of been adaptions to what he aquired.
Thus giving many differing styles.
Some Ryu appear to be different but then the techniques are the same but they may have a particular way of tying the Hakama distinguishing them from the counterparts which they were so born from.
Some ryu conduct the Chiburi(Shaking of the blood)In an almost circular motion above the head, then you see Katori Shinto who spin the Katana in the hand then hit the Tsuka(Handle)with the fist, some ryu have differing ways to return the Katana to the Saya(Noto:Returning the sword to the scabbard).
If you already study Iaido(E eye doh)You would be aware of these and other factors to consider,If you do and not aware of the ryu you study, you could be learning incorrect techniques for the ryu you attend,If you dont study,The best thing to do is do some homework into the available Ryu in the area and what style they teach,Then decide what ryu is for you, then buy beg or steal from torrents a good beginners book.Hope that is of some use to yous,Shank......Have you anything at all on Katori Shinto,And Enshin Ryu.
I already have this amongst an ever expanding home library. And not much use to me...I need more advance.
Thankyou again.

Most ryu don't have books about them, granted. There are more iaido books than this one. It's a shame they are so terrible, though.
