Hi, i'm familiar with mounting Iso fles on Daemon tool but when it come to OS, it as if i had never touched a computer.
So how do i go about downloading this iso file and then format a PC to install this OS?
Can i just burn the ISO on a CD and then insert it in the CD-rom, format, install and voila or do i have additional steps to do?
Note* I have already formatted tons of time in the past but the copy of XP i have was given to me by someone else.

great upload men. definitely gonna refer this to all xp users out there. i just downloaded an installed a new win xp from another site (DDL site) and ended up with SATA drivers disabled or somethin, though another xp on the same hdd has an xp but still boots the drivers needed from flash drives and stuff. i did check the device manager and stuff. hopefully this one works cz d one i recently installed took me like 3 hours or something. nwei, your an XP HERO !! xD +1 quality

You need a program to do so.

Yes you can do that, just don't throw the file on the CD as it is :)
You have to get any free burning software and burn this image file into an empty CD.
Search Google "How to burn image file into a CD" and you will find lots of helpful articles.

.. or download driver genius which will get rid of divers nd tell which divers you need..

WORKS LIKE A CHARM!
Only problem is once its done you have to install Audio, Video, Ethernet, and WLAN drivers manually using another computer and a USB flash drive :)
But I don't have a problem doing that!

The website for your laptop should have the drivers, so you could download them from there. I just Googled your laptop ("Compaq Presario v3000") and it was the third link. You just need to know the exact model of your PC. It should be a pretty straight-forward process.

then i installed on my new drive and could not finish the installation--it get some way thru and it wont finish..it get to the point--- windows cannot access the specified device path or file. you may not have appropriate permissions--cmd.exe
upgrading from window 2000 sp4 on both drives
and that one i had a password set on wndows
before total boot..im thinking that is the problem.
Is it some way around this? maybe if i use old drive to fix the newer one i use everyday..can i disabale or paste something and the registry or turn off pasword logon somehow because i cant finish the installation but i can use it as storage or back up drive..i really need this drive to work because i do all my work on it..

You can check that from your BIOS.

@ elpeluka, No, you don't have to format again and use the march 2011 version when it comes out. The only difference is that when it's match and there are some pdates, those updates will be integrated into the match 2011 edition by the uploader for those who want to download the latest, but since you have already downloaded and installed february version, you only have to go to Microsoft Windows Update website and check for updates.
@jknice, this one has only Recycle bin on the lower righ side of the desktop, you have to place "My Compute, My DOcuments and My Network places" unto the desktop.

@ jknice, the hard drive I was installing this windows Xp on got crashed so I don't have screenshots of the installation. I have used the November 2010 edition before and has only the recycle bin on the desktop (same issue you have to right-click on desktop, choose properties, then under desktop tab, you click on customize desktop, then you choose which items you want (to appear on the desktop), then OK button and then OK button. That's all.
Secondly, this ISO has no addons like Adobe Reader, Mozilla and the rest, you have to download them yourself and install them.
The screenshot links Maherz posted in the torrent description has been blocked and I cant view it anymore.
Don't know whats happening.

You get a message to click any key to boot from CD, just don't click any key and wait for Windows setup to start.

I did formate tha partition and then installed windows to it but still it stuck to Microsoft Windows XP loading screen and the blue bar just continues movement but nothing happens and then computer reboots? In safe mode it complains same thing: it stucks to ...\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys?

I burned the cdrom with cdburnerxp, but all i get is Non-system disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready.

Use any disk writer to write it down, mount it in with .iso reader program and burn, save the contents in a folder use a usb_multiboot (google it) to install from a stick, any from above way should work.

I downloaded the ISO file posted here. I mounted it into a virtual drive using MagicDisc. Then i used WinToFlash to transfer the xp setup files onto the usb. But when i tried to boot from usb it many files are missing. Could you help with this?

I had installed Xin 7 on a PC (the one I am using now) and to create the bootable CD, I used some file, something like 7boot.bin, smthn like that.
I found one for xp, but its xpboot.bin Do I have to do that to get the CD to become bootable?

The CD works perfectly and passed all Windows validation checks I could fine.
Just FYI, After I burned the ISO to a CD I scanned the entire disc for viruses using Microsoft Security Essentials with the latest viral updates. It scanned 56749 items and no viruses found.

Used this on a 7 yr old install of Windows XP. Way faster! Just make sure you get all the necessities like browser, antivirus, etc. Don't forget the drivers! Audio, Video, Network, and printers.

I had the same problem. You need a XP with AHCI driver. You can install the typical windows version if you change your disk to IDE in bios also.
For updated XP with AHCI integrated I recommend you to get WINBORG, which has these in the ISO.

Okay, this is just giving me trouble. I burned the img on CD using Nero 10. Put it in my pc and it says press key to continue, did that. Then it shuts off after doing a few things. So i turn it on and wait till the virus-infested windows turns on then shut the cd drive and click install windows. then it asks for a product key that YOU said was already inserted and not needed. Then it it says app. 51 mins to completion and then it says its restarting windows! It restarts and goes back to screen and this time didnt ask me to hit a key and just started that shit all over again and shut off on me again! WTF did I do wrong?
ALSO, how do I format the hard drive so it WIPES EVERYTHING OFF and I can clean install the xp? Should I format the hard drive first, then insert the cd?

Those who needs to install new drivers but can't access internet, please borrow someone's computer like you friends. Proceed to your laptop/desktop brand website and find the specific driver needed for you. You will need a ethernet driver to access the internet

I would install from the beginning; but I don't have "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard"; I'm using Tiny-XP (a mistake. that's why I want to install this one).

@MrAcid, it's better to just do a clean reinstall if any problems develop, as to eliminate that problem cropping back up. Backup your files, and set up XP again.

During the copying files phase, it kept saying that a bunch of files weren't present. Eventually it said setup cannot continue. I reburned on another cd at a lower speed and reset the MBR on all my hard drives, but it didn't fix the problem. Some of these files had to do with windows media player and NTLDR.

Three .dll files are corrupted. I could replace them with new ones from www.dlldll.com in the system directory and it worked on Bootcamp. However on Parallels Desktop I couldn't do that.
