"The last man on earth" is older than Omega man, it was made in 1964, an old black and white movie with Vincent Price.
Pretty good though, the one with Mr. Price in it.

This was released before I am Legend
I didnt think this movie was bad at all
a very neat spin on the zombie genre
and the zombies are much different then
in I am Legend and didnt depend on computer
graphics to make a good movie well worth the watch

The book of I am Legend, as rakofgor says, is the original and the best.
The Vincent Price 'Last Man on Earth' is the best film version, however the book is superior.
The will smith film was a turd, even Omega Man was better than that.
