I began watching this and everything seemed to be working fine, and then when the characters came on the screen there was no audio for their dialogue, however there was a music track playing. Is there something i can do to hear their voices?

Although i didn't download this one to confirm your issue, your speaker configurations may be configured incorrectly. You may not be hearing center speakers output for some reason. Try playing the movie with audio downmixed to stereo.
