same problem as ohjim27, meaning when clicking on new game, the game window is reduced to a grey screen, a "debug? Y/N?" kind of pops out, no has no effect and yes quits the game.
I'm playing on a macbook intel core 2, with of course the lame GMA x3100 video chip...

doesnt work with ati graphic cards. at least mine doesnt. looks a bit like cod4 mw2 port, just u can see poeple, but walls and the groundfloor is invisible

I solved the problem with ATI Radeon HD 4850 (maybe works with other ATI cards).
Press left mouse button over Assassins Creed icon and select Show Content. Browse to Contents/Resources/Preferences/ and edit the config file.
Go to the line 180 and change "GLSL" = "M" to "GLSL" = "Y". Save the changes and run the game.
If you already run the game, maybe you have to change the config file in your user preferences... (~/Library/Preferences/AssassinsCreed v06.3305hy Preferences/Config)

hey guys. Ive got a mid 2009 MB with 2.0ghz Core 2 Duo, 3 gigs DDR3 RAM, and the NVidia 9600 Card.
The game seems to run fine, but the OSX pointer remains superimposed over the application. (i am not running in a window). i still get the A symbol pointer in game but the OSX pointer floats in the middle of the screen. its not really a problem, its just annoying and distracting.
any ideas of how to get it to disappear?

to all the people having problems with textures, like having no floor, or seeing no objects:
its a graphic card related problem. this port doesnt work properly with ati cards. your not the first ones. its like call of duty modern warfare 2.
doesnt work aswell.
try bootcamp or get a machine with a nvidea card.

Salfanar, you are wrong. I'm playing the game in a 27" i7 iMac with a ATI RADEON HD 4850 Graphic Card.
All the game run fine. You have to change the config file like I say in my first post....
I solved the problem with ATI Radeon HD 4850 (maybe works with other ATI cards).

The time difference for the sounds of cutscenes and the movements of cutscenes is off. It becomes greater with time, so I'm guessing that either the speech is too slow, or the movements are too fast. I did what Phil said, changed the M to a Y, but did nothing else. Can someone please help? Its annoying as hell.

Works for me... sorta. Few notes:
-The requirements are STEEP. I have a brand new White Unibody MacBook with a 2.26 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM and it lags like shit even when I turn everything all the way down.
-The controls are awful, and you can't remap them. Also, unless you have a 2 button mouse, you're screwed. The freerunning requires holding down the right mouse button, it is very difficult if you're trying to use a laptop like me.
Also, the reason the video gets out of sync with the audio is because your computer can't render the moving people fast enough, and the audio always plays normally. You can make the cutscenes run a little smoother by turning the graphics way down.
This game does technically work, but it's very difficult because of the combination between lag and bad controls. I know that I don't have the fastest computer ever, but every other game I have works fine and so should this game. The Ubisoft games always have this trouble. I have Prince of Persia for the mac, and despite not being any more graphically impressive than, say, Bioshock, it lags like a bitch. Also, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has very steep requirements, and even though I havent played it on my computer, I doubt it'd run.

I get the same debugging problem as a lot of the other people here. I got the same type of problem with a soccer game I downloaded, and changing the screen resolution solved that. That doesn't seem to work on this.

Just downloaded it today, makes me wish I played it first cos so far its nothing compared to Brotherhood, all the same, good game & thanks for the upload.
@zdubbb Right click on the file, select open with Archive Utility. It will extract it into that same folder then all you have to do is drag it into your applications folder & you are good to go.
P.S: It seems archive utility comes with all Mac's (I guess). Have fun.

For all people who can't play this game
1. Update all your software (at least Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard)
2. Make sure you have at least 4GB of RAM and a nice video card. (note that some people with ATI have been meeting problems)
3. Don't play it on a external disk. Use your Mac's hard drive or it will be slow. Also make sure your drive is fast (in RPMs).
4. Make sure that you are not opening other apps at the same time.
