I saw this movie when I was 15 after my parents rented it thinking it was just a scary revenge type movie. We were all totally shocked by the rape scenes and I think my parents were very embarassed by the experience.

All films are filmed in "letterbox" format or AKA "cinemascope" or "16:9" format, but because TVs made from 1960 to 2001 had a 4:3 ratio screeen, all films cut or chop the sides of the picture to fit as much of the 4:3 screen as possible.
but modern TV's and monitors are trying to emulate the cinema camera because the eyes dont really have a 4:3 line of vision
ie, letterbox is better if you want to see all the picture
