Since 1972 they played together in the band "FRECLEFACE". The band had one album in '72 with the same name "Frecleface". After some time they changed the name to "TJENS COUTER". It was one of the most influential Belgian bands of the 70's. They worked together untill 1980. When the band was transformed to "T.C. MATIC". Paul had other musical ideas and after a few months he was replaced by Jean-Marie Aerts.
