Feels Like Christmas 07. Three Ships 08. New Year's Baby (First Lullaby) 09. December Child 10. In the Bleak Midwinter 11. Silent Night[Feat. Chatterton Elementary School Choir] Allmusic Review: Cyndi Lauper closed out her Epic Records contract with this holiday album, which consists mostly of original compositions. Lauper seeks the Christmas spirit in some snowless locales, giving a Cajun sound to "Early Christmas Morning" and an appropriately tropical feel to "Christmas Conga." She favors folkie arrangements and is heard playing dulcimer, recorder, and ukulele, among other instruments, which lend a homemade feel to the tracks. Merry Christmas...Have a Nice Life! is an unusual but ultimately winning collection, rendered with Lauper' s typical cockeyed conviction.

I was given this album when I was in Japan in 2000 and I've got to say that it feels more like a contractual obligation than something she poured her heart and soul into. With such lyrics as "Bonga, bonga, bonga, do the Christmas conga" it's hardly gong to strain your brain with depth but overall the album has a that certain cheeky charm that Lauper's famed for. It's good for a chuckle.
