Northern Soul 250 of the best money can buy ( if you can find them ) Northern soul is the term used in the United Kingdom for a type of mid-tempo and uptempo heavy-beat soul music (of mainly African American origin) that was popularized in Northern England from the mid 1960s onwards. The term also refers to the associated dance styles and fashions that emanated from the Twisted Wheel club in Manchester and spread to other dancehalls and nightclubs, such as the Golden Torch (in Stoke-upon-Trent), the Highland Rooms at the Blackpool Mecca and the Wigan Casino. Northern soul dancing was usually athletic, resembling the later dance styles of disco and break dancing. Featuring spins, flips, and backdrops, the northern soul dancing style was inspired by the stage performances of visiting American soul acts. I have been on the Northern Soul scene for many years as Promoter, Dj and total freak. And thought it was about time to put a bit back into the scene that causes me to have so many memories and so many sleepless nights. This torrent is compiled by me and ripped by myself and other friends on the scene ( Thanks alot guys ~ Keep the Faith ). Although it was bloody hard putting these together I cant begin to tell ya the fun I had and the memories it brought back playing some of these for the first time in a while. I was asked to put together a series of torrents concerning the different types of Northern Soul eg Blackpool Mecca,The Ritz,Instrumentals,The Torch,Twisted Wheel, my particular fave which is Cleethorpes etc etc So this I have done and I have made this one extra. Its the Northern I would choose if I couldnt listen to another track but these! Its full of the rarest of the rare as well as the ones you all probably know and love. trojans, virus's and spyware only exist on windows despite all the bullcrap microssoft keep spouting about unix sustens being vunerable.
I have used a unix system for 8 years now with no anti-virus and no firewall and had no problems whatsoever.

Dont forget! This aint no bloody cd you can just rip n put your name on, this took f'n hours to rip and IMHO its the best Northern torrent on the www!!!

Damn man! We may be an ocean apart, but souls much closer than that. Thank you for the HARD work this (and all your other Up's) really entailed. I would love to put up some of the many rare american soul albums I collected for over 20 years that I'm sure you'd like, but unfortunately they were lost in a fire. So I find people like you who can fill in the Hole that's left, and even can turn me on to 'new to me' soul in addition. 'Ronnie's Soul Collection' torrents deserve the same praise.
Finally, on the topic of viruses, shame on you if you aren't wearing your virus condom. But, any TRULY audio file, or video file (as opposed to some executable file masquerading as one of them) cannot possibly give you a virus. I don't doubt that occasionally anti-virus programs report that a file contains a virus, when in fact it does not. The key to understanding this is that anti-virus programs use 'signatures' to identify "suspected virus infected" programs. Think of a 'signature' as a bad fingerprint. I will not always be able to prove so-and-so did it. The little snippet of code that is a 'signature' , when matched by a search by the anti-virus program, doesn't always mean the file IS infected, it means it found a 'snippet' in a file that matched the signature. Sometime the 'signature contains a tiny little bit of data like 'XOXOXO'. That's all! So your mp3 file containing the title of the song, embedded within the .mp3, file "XOXOXO means I Love You.mp3" just triggered your anti-virus program. That's all, not a virus. Be smart, be cautious, but for everyone's sake, don't start screaming here because you because you don't know the difference between smelling smoke and a true fire.
