TechTool Pro 4.6.1 DVD Boot

There is another torrent version available which is a 2go *.toast image. This one's lighter cause of its *dmg file format. - Don't need serial if used as a DVD Boot. - SN included KEEP SEEDING !

It says DVD boot, but the file is 600 MB - would it work if burned to a CD instead?

It takes around 2go uncompressed. No way to burn it on CD.

Ah, misunderstood. Didn't realize the dmg was just a compression, I mistook it for an actual image.

No you're right : it's an image, but a very tiny image ! You can burn to a dvd by the "Disk Utility" on your Mac.

I've tried burning it to a DVD+RW several times, holding C when starting my MacBook Pro doesn't change a thing. It just won't boot from this DVD.

My mac has broken down, and I'm trying to burn this using Linux (Ubuntu 7.10), without much success.
I tried mounting it with -t hfs -o loop, and get this:
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/loop0,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
dmesg says: [163643.340327] hfs: unable to find HFS+ superblock
As far as I remember, I have been able to mount DMG images earlier, using this same command. Is the image corrupt or encrypted? Does anybody have something constructive to say about my trivial problems?

I am having a similar problems. Able to burn by converting to iso image then burn it in windows. But when starting from the DVD nothing happens after pressing "C". All it does is boot to Mac OS X.
