Description:

I am really surprised that so many people here have problems with images, why not use google for this???? anyway those 2 freeware programs, what you of course also can find in google can solve your problem. __________________________________________________________________ UIF2ISO is an open source command-line/GUI tool for converting single and multipart UIF file images to the original ISO format. The UIF image (Universal Image Format) in fact is just a compressed ISO which can be created through the commercial program MagicISO. __________________________________________________________________ DAA2ISO is an open source command-line/GUI tool for converting single and multipart DAA file images to the original ISO format. The DAA image (Direct Access Archive) in fact is just a compressed ISO which can be created through the commercial program PowerISO.

Not sure if you hadn't noticed, but both of those projects were just added to FreshMeat a little over 5 weeks ago.... the problem lies in that people have been uploading images in those formats for years where the only solution was to use the program which initially created the file in order to convert it back to a standard ISO. What people should be doing is creating it as a standard .iso or as a .bin/.cue combination, then RAR'ing it for compression (7-Zip can handle the un-RAR process, thus avoiding the need for commercial software to work with the resulting file(s)).

For that matter, even creating it as a .mdf/.mds, as those are very commonly usable by things like DaemonTools. The problem with .UIF and .DAA is that you HAD TO use their appropriate commercial application to do anything with them, which is why people dislike the use of them.

sorry - my english is not enough to discuss why some use UIF instead of ISO, sure you can find thos programs in internet by using google, but looks like some are not able to do that, so i placed it here.

UIF and DAA files are notorious for the ability to hide trojan which will be released when you decompress it with MagicISO or Poweriso.
So it is to be avoided or handle with care.
Hope this appz can help to expose the hidden trojans if present and let you remove it.

Very useful indeed and, at least daa2iso, works like a charm.
