History comes alive in this fascinating story of opposing views that continue to play a fundamental role in today's politics and economics. In the twenty-first century, Adam Smith's 'invisible hand' model has gained the upper hand, and capitalism has ultimately won the ideological battle over socialism and interventionism. But even in the era of globalization and privatization, Keynesian and Marxist ideas continue to play a significant role in economic policy in the public and private sectors. About the Author MARK SKOUSEN has taught economics at Columbia University, is editor of Forecasts & Strategies, a monthly investment newsletter, and is the author of more than twenty books, including The Making of Modern Economics.

Warning: by narrowing the field to the Marx-Keynes realm, these lectures actually advocate long-discredited Soviet economic concepts. Keynes himself rejected this sort of philosophy after his debates with Hayek.
This is advocacy, not education. Nonetheless, it's worth hearing to understand the older communist or social viewpoints.
If you want to pass your economics history classes, this will be good. If you use this to help with Econ 101, you will fail.

Thanks for sharing.:)) I have to study about three of them, however.

Partly respons to ich_yama and partly just to formulate my thought to myself in writing:
In order for any science to move forward one has to know about the history, same goes for everything. Since every human starts out as a blank paper, unless we get to know our history first we are bound to make the same mistakes over and over.
I appreciate the reminder that it is a theory most likely not applicable to our society. And that one has to have this in mind when listening. Which in any case is a great advice. Be mindful of sources.

Ich_yama is just an ideologized prick that got alarmed after reading "marx" in the title. Dismiss his(her ignorance.
