The no-cd Toast image does work. Here is what to do:
- Copy the .toast image from CD2 to your desktop
- Install Toast onto your Mac (there is a torrent for Toast 9 kicking about here)
- Open the .toast file with Toast and select Mount
- Run Railroad Tycoon 3 - it shouldn't ask for CD2 to be inserted. At least it didn't on my MacBook.
The key is to Mount the .toast image using Toast.

Remember - toast < 9 for mac osx 10.4 or below
- Toast 10 for mac osx 10.5 and above
I tried it and it worked perfectly! Hope it works for u too im running a macbook Intel osx 10.4.. I'm already at my 3rd gold medal!!! ;-)

it worked with me
1. install with cd 1
2. mount cd 2 .dmg file with toast
NOTICE I didnt mount the toast image I mounted whole .dmg cd2 file and it worked =)

when i try to open the game is shows a sign in white just with the image of the game and the ok option what could be the problem?
i mount the CD2 with toast 9
and my computer is the macbook pro 13in 4gb ram 160gb hd

Hi guys, I am a little confused, I downloaded the torrent and tried installing it with Toast, but it came up with an error saying this can't be installed on a PowerPC, but I have just double checked and I have an Intel Mac... Another game did the same thing? anyone know what is up?

ok got it to work.
1. download torrent (use bittorrent if you want)
2. load disc 1
3. download roxio toast titanium
4. in roxio TOAST titanium on top row select COPY, and select disk image merge, click select mac image, find .dmg file on disc 2
5. click mount
5.5. find railroad tycoon 3 click to play(in applications)
6. it will say it wont work
7. click unmount
8. mount again
9. find railroad tycoon 3 click to play should work!worked for me!
if your stuck on roxio toast go on utube and look how to mount but these instructions should suffice
