Quote from J. P. Morgan - Early 1900's"Capital must protect itself in every way... Debts must be collected and loans and mortgages foreclosed as soon as possible. When through a process of law the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principle men now engaged in forming an imperialism of capitalism to govern the world. By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd."
Today :
NEW YORK (Reuters) - With the acquisition of Washington Mutual Inc, JPMorgan Chase & Co Chief Executive Jamie Dimon is starting to look a little more like this century's incarnation of John Pierpont Morgan.
Morgan, who established the original J.P. Morgan & Co in 1871, organized a rescue of the banking system in the Panic of 1907. More than 100 years later, Dimon is buying failed banks in the midst of financial chaos.

I hear ya omerta!... continuing convo from yesterday's thread....
Rise of truth... When I capture the stream I use total recorder and set it to background record, so it never decodes/re-encodes the mp3 as it comes out from infowars. It just saves the file.
For the AJ show i usually use Nero Wave Editor because it's somewhat easier to use than audacity and the mp3pro encoder is a bit faster than the built in lame encoder with Nero.
I wouldn't mind encoding to mp4/aac if people can use it. As far as today's show goes I bumped the bitrate up a bit.
Format : MPEG Audio
Format version : Version 2
Format profile : Layer 3
Duration : 45mn 29s
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 48.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 1 channel
Sampling rate : 22.05 KHz
Resolution : 16 bits
Peter... I'll try to find specs on that player and see if there's something I could do to make it work.
chakra71 (2008-09-27)
One thing... the stream comes out in 32kbps mp3, so not much gain to be had in bumping the bitrate I encode to. The only benefit is perhaps not getting much additional loss when I re-encode after the edit.chakra71 (2008-09-27)
Boy... I wish I could go back and edit comments so I wouldn't have to triple post like this....rise-of-truth, you also asked if I used IE, I only use it at work, which is where I was when I did that survey. I work for one of the 5 largest banks in the U.S. and apparently the budget is so tight that I can't get my PC replaced... old machine running windows 2000. At home I use Firefox.

About IE, yep, that's what I thought.
I know the stream comes out at 32kbp/s from infowars, but still, the lower the bitrate on the final encode, the lower quality in the end... because it has to re-compress it (the encoder doesn't know if the stream was 32kbp/s originally or 3200, it just treats it as audio and compresses it).
But yeah, I get what you're saying.
About AAC... Personally, if I were in your position, I wouldn't use it... I was just saying that it's better than MP3, because, well, it is... but people get scared when they see ".mp4" or ".aac"...
If you want to experiment with better quality, it's probably better to keep the MP3, and encode at VBR (variable bit rate) instead of CBR (constant).
Well, whatever. The quality is already good enough though, and you're doing a great job.

I used the newest version of lame.exe with vbr for the rense show and intel report today... I can't tell much difference in quality, but it did encode faster. and at least one file was slightly smaller than usual.I like playing around with encoding... so if you have any other tips or command line suggestions feel free to send them my way!
