De Aarde vanuit de Hemel - DVD-Box 3 - DVD 1 van 3 Dit is het derde seizoen van De Aarde vanuit de Hemel, de unieke documentaireserie die ons Moeder Aarde toont zoals we haar nog nooit hebben gezien. De drijvende kracht achter de serie is de Fransman Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Hij maakte in de jaren '80 en '90 internationaal naam als natuurfotograaf. In 1990 richtte hij het Altitude Agency op: de eerste beeldbank ter wereld die volledig gespecialiseerd is in luchtfotografie. In 2000 creëerde hij de reizende fototentoonstelling 'De Aarde vanuit de Hemel', die wereldwijd 120 miljoen bezoekers trok. Sinds 2006 maakt Arthus Bertrand onder deze noemer dus ook verbluffende documentaires. In dit derde seizoen gaan we op zoek naar verrassende helden die de natuur beschermen, bekijken we de gevolgen het opraken van de aardolie als bron van energie en zien we de schrikbarende erfenis van onze consumptiemaatschappij. Deel 9 - De helden van de natuur: In deze aflevering richten Yann Arthus-Bertrand en zijn team hun camera's onder meer op het Afrikaanse land Gabon. Het ligt centraal en vormt een soort knooppunt op het continent. Op het oog zijn de natuurlijke rijkdommen nog nauwelijks aangetast door de mens. In heel Gabon wonen ook maar anderhalf miljoen mensen, op een oppervlak dat ruim zes keer zo groot is als Nederland. Driekwart van het land wordt nog bedekt door weelderige jungle. Naast dit ongerepte paradijs laat Arthus-Bertrand ons nog een aantal fascinerende plekken op aarde zien waar helden zich inzetten om de natuur te beschermen. This is the third season of The Earth from Above, the unique documentary series shows that our Mother Earth as we have never seen her.
The driving force behind the series, the Frenchman Yann Arthus-Bertrand. He was in the 80s and 90s an international reputation as a nature photographer.
In 1990 he founded the Altitude Agency: the first image bank in the world to fully specialized in aerial photography.
In 2000 he created a traveling photo exhibition "Earth from Above", the world 120 million visitors.

Part 9 - The heroes of nature:
In this episode focus Yann Arthus-Bertrand and his team their cameras including in the African country of Gabon.
It is centrally located and forms a hub on the continent. On the eye's natural resources have barely been affected by man.
Throughout Gabon even half million people live on a surface that more than six times the size of the Netherlands.
Three quarters of the country is still covered by lush jungle. Besides this unspoiled paradise Arthus-Bertrand shows us a number of fascinating places on earth to see where heroes strive to protect nature.
