This update will only work on Vista home premium and ultimate edition.

I'm not sure about the x64 version but the x86 version for most people installs fine on top of a non-new install. Some people have to reload Vista from scratch but not everyone.

Worked for me, x64 Ultimate, also got the other patch from M$ as well. Small one, since I don't have a TV tuner installed, I really didn't notice any difference. But I'm a sucker for updates :). Anyone know how to get HD DVD playback working in MCE? Tried Arcsoft, it showed a setting in MCE, but wouldn't launch. Think its only x86.

Did an overlay install on my old Vista-x64 installation. As of 12/30 there are 2 updates from MS for the x64 app:
MCETVPack-Windows6.0-KB956147-x64.msu

It's working great with my AverMedia Combi card in ntsc and ota/atsc mode. Have not tried the qam tuner. Now the channel numbers are remapped to the correct display number with the dash number to denote sub channel. Glad I did the update.

Did the same update to another Vista-x64 VMC PC. This time with the same Avermedia Combo card using ntsc and qam tuners. Installed on top of an old Vista-x64 install. All expected channels showed up correctly. 2 for 2 successful installs.
