I burned ISO file using Alcohol 120, but after burning, I'm supposed to restart my comp to do a clean install, but after I restart it just goes back to my desktop (like its not reading the dvd disk or something)??. It shows up in my disk drive, but when I double click the icon to start installing from the disk drive it tells me to restart comp from the disk to do a clean install, but when I restart it just goes back to my desktop again????. Can anyone HELP PLEASE!!.mother0fall (2008-06-10)
@ Faldune:have you done this before? if not, try this:
* on reboot, when you first see a black screen, you will also most likely notice a message at the bottom of the screen saying something like " press [DEL] to enter setup. on some old computers its [F1] or sometimes [ESC].
* once there, look for something that says "boot sequence", change priority to CD/DVD, press [F10] to save settings, and reboot.
* follow instructions. do this only ONCE. after that, dont press any key when it asks you to boot from cd/dvd again, or you will repeat the process over and over again and not complete the installation.
this is just a quick guide. if you need more details, google "xp clean install" and learn from the info they give.
i hope this helps.

This works great, but why has he spalttered his name all over it? I don't really want the name 'Johnny' ON MYvixen-of-alcatraz (2008-10-26)
continued... 'PC everytime it starts up or shuts down!' Good, stable OS anyway. Thanks to Johnny!(Sorry about the split message, I pressed Enter by mistake.)
