Hi SciFi,
also from me - this time I am late for the first days cause of being away for a while - my thanks and compliments to you and best wishes for the new year and for an ongoing SUMO delivery...
It´s great again to watch Sumo!
Thanks

Has anyone noticed how Japan loves and needs the yokozuna Asa?
It's a shame some of the press and certain members of the sumo association are against him. He is needed and is a part of that great balance. While Hakuho is quiet and reflective much like Takanohana, Asa is more like (with a little extra) Akebono. I think Japan needs that balance.
Hakuho keeps the older fans watching while Asa brings in the new generation.
What do you all think?

Personally, I think Asa *is* hounded by the media, and I do credit him with having great talent, but still, he is a spoilt star. I don't like his extra shoves, his bragging, and when he does not let real doctors near his elbow that's just silly. Also, observing the fans in the arena, it seems his fans aren't much younger than Hakuho's.
BTW, I think there are more defining characters than the two yokozuna, but I would say that wouldn't I :-)
